3rd Person POV

-Outside-

"You guys got into NYU too?!" Aru asked Brynne and Mini.

"Yeah!" Brynne said. "Wait. Too? Shah, you got in?!"

"Why is everyone so surprised about that?!" Aru scoffed. "Kara and I both got in."

"I got in too! I don't know if I'm going, though. I also got into Dartmouth and Duke!" Mini exclaimed.

"Show-off," Brynne whispered.

"I heard that."

"No, you didn't," Brynne quickly said, trying to cover up what she said. She didn't want to lose GoGo again for a fifth time.

"Yes, I did!"

"No!"

"Ye-" Mini started to say.

"Shut up, please," Kara said. She was still in her sweats.

"You look fabulous, Kara," Aru teased.

"Don't even go there."

"I will because I can," Aru protested.  Sunny sparked in ring form. "Oh, yes. I am supposed to be scared of a trident that opens portals. Too bad it can't open a portal to another state, so it would take forever for me to get back," Aru joked.

Kara smiled.

"Wait, it can? Kara, I was just joking. Please don't," Aru laughed in a scared way.

The trident made a portal and gently pushed Aru in.

Aru appeared in an alleyway in her sage green t-shirt and grey sweatpants. Horns were honking, and feet were hitting the ground. She looked out of the dark alley and noticed she was in New York City.

"Seriously, Kara?" she spoke to herself. She heard footsteps behind her, and she spun around.

"Hi, little girl," an older man said. He looked to be at least 35, and he was dressed in all black.

"I'm actually a senior, but that's not important," her voice trailed off.

"Come here for a minute, would ya?"

"We are three feet apart. I think I'm good here," she said, slowly backing up. He grabbed her arm. "Let go of me! Somebody help!" she yelled. Little did she know, in New York City, most people couldn't care less about others. They care about their safety and that's it.

It's a fast-paced world and with everything going on, it's no wonder no one heard Aru's scream for help.

"What can you possibly do to me?" She looked down at her wrist to see that Vajra wasn't there. She realized she must've forgotten to pick it back up before running away from Ava. She was screwed.

Boo's voice rang through her head. "You are more than what you fight with."

She tried to kick him, but he used his free hand to grab her leg and place it back onto the ground.

"Just get into the van. You must get the gist."

"Never in a million years would I go with a creep like you," she spat.

"Fine then. We will be doing this the hard way," he mumbled.

"No, we're doing this my way," Aru said angrily. She had no other choice at that moment. He was stronger than her, and she didn't have Vajra to fight back.

A shadow jumped from the broken concrete and pulled the man away from Aru. "What kind of magic is this?!"

"The best kind. The kind that is stronger than you," she said as she kicked him to the ground. A black bracelet formed on his wrist. "That will inform me if you ever try to hurt or touch another kid again. You got it?"
