TEARS SOAKED MY pillow from all the crying i had done. beverly came over to my side of the room multiple times to hug me but it never worked.

it would never be will.

because he's gone. will's dead.

"there's something more to this," beverly speaks up. she was trembling, she looked so frightened.

"bev? are you okay?" i ask, my voice hoarse and raspy from sobbing.

"m-my friend. his brother went missing. a-and," she paused, regaining her composure.

"and he was murdered."

"by who? do you know?" i ask her, forgetting that was we're dealing with is far more complicated than a murderer.

"a clown," she finally says, after several minutes of silence.

"that's sick. using a kid's favorite thing to kill-"

"no," she shook her head.

"it was a shape-shifting clown."

"shape-shifting?" i ask, normally i wouldn't believe her, but what with we're going through and the fact she never lies to me tells me to do otherwise.

"yes, he turned into your worst fears to draw you in and kill you."

"so, what. you like fought the thing?"

"yea, and we killed IT, i think," she answers, her voice hushed.

"bev, i'm sure you guys killed it," i tell her, walking over to her and hugging her.

"i think it's something different. maybe even worse," i tell her and feel her nod onto my shoulder.

ranny speaks-
