CHAPTER 16: UN-FUN FACTS

Ace: I'm going to use the restroom.

Max: Okay 

I went back to his the living room and Max was sitting down with a glass of what smelled like whiskey.

Ace:Bubba

Max: Yes

Ace: Are you okay?

Max: I'm fine

Ace: Don't hide things from me

Max: I'm not hiding

Ace: You're drinking, I've never seen you drink

Max: I don't do it in front of you

Ace: Why?

Max: Cause you can't, it's rude

Ace: I'm okay with it. You don't have to stop doing things because of me.

Max: That's how a relationship works, I'll give up things, and you'll give up things.

Ace: Fine, but this one is only a little while until I turn twenty one

I sat beside him.

Ace: Are you actually okay though? You witnessed a car accident

Max: And I wasn't hurt, I was just driving trying to figure out what I could do to get you back.

Ace: Wait, you were driving around because of me?

Max: Yeah, I guess I was

Ace: I shouldn't have left... I should've listened to you, we could've talked it out. I almost killed you.

Max: Lovebug you wouldn't have killed me

Ace: Yes I would've, you were looking for something because of me, had that car hit you. I'm not selfish I swear, but had I lost you that would've crushed me.

Max: You didn't lose me

Ace: But-

Max: No buts, I'm right here, healthy as a horse.

Ace: You love me right?

Max: Yes

Ace: Go get checked out, please, let them see if anything is wrong.

Max: Why?

Ace: My dad, he was a witness to a large house fire. And he ran in to help people. He came out and said he was just fine. He died in his sleep, turns out he had severe smoke inhalation and he hit his head. I never saw him again and I can't lose you  too. So please if you truly love me let me take you to the hospital.

I miss my dad everyday, but papa my stepfather took care of me when my dad couldn't.

Max: Okay

Ace: Thank you.

We walked to my car and I drove him to the hospital. We sat in the emergency room. Went through the process

Front Desk Worker: How can I help you?

Ace: I just need a routine checkup to be done.

Front Desk Worker: on you or your...

She pointed to Max

Ace: It's for him.

Front Desk Worker: Is this just for a routine check up?

Ace: He witnessed a car accident and I just want to make sure he didn't hit his head from braking or anything like that.

Front Desk Worker: We'll be with you as soon as we can.

Ace: Thank you

We sat on one those weird couch type things that aren't couches. I laid my head on his shoulder. So no one could see my face. Just in case, I didn't have a problem with it but I didn't want him to get fired.
