Sam's POV:

April 19th, 2020

Surely enough, Eddie called me halfway through his shift threatening to kill my brother. "He told everyone,"

"What did I tell you?"

"Yeah, I know. But I didn't figure he actually would,"

I laughed lightly, "Just try to put up with it."

"But Hen and Chimney are teasing me!" Eddie whined.

"I can come down there if you want me to deal with them."

"Would you please?"

"No! I'm at work too."

"Please!"

"Babe, you're a big boy. You can take care of it."

"Fine, I'll see you tonight. I love you."

"I love you too."

I set my phone down and started working on some paperwork when I heard a loud thud from outside. I stood up and walked outside, I looked to see kids gathered around Ana with a skateboard flipped on its side. Someone was lying on the ground so I ran over to them, "Hey! Back up!" I sternly told the kids.

They stepped back, "It was an accident, Ms. Sam!"

I looked and saw Christopher lying on the ground with his leg and arm scraped up; my stomach was in my throat, "Oh my god, Chris! Are you okay?"

"Yeah,"

"What happened?"

"I just wanted to skateboard like the other kids."

I nodded, I looked at Ana and my blood started to boil. "Don't move, Christopher. I'll be right back, take my phone and call your father." I handed my phone to Christopher and stood up. I grabbed Ana's arm roughly and pulled her out of earshot from the kids.

"Ow, what the hell Sam?"

"Uh no. You don't get to talk, I don't want another word out of you! How dare you allow him to get on a skateboard?! Are you that stupid? He has Cerebral Palsy you dumb bitch! You are lucky he didn't break his neck!"

"I don't need to hear this from you, you let him play sports like the other kids-"

"His feet stay on the ground at all times Ana! He isn't like the other kids no matter how much he tries! You'll be lucky if you don't get fired for this. As for my fiancé, you will be lucky if you can find a job in the state of California ever again."

I turned around to walk back to Christopher but Ana grabbed my arm, "Don't you dare threaten me, Buckley!"

"Let go of me, I need to get to Christopher," I tried to pull away again but I couldn't.

"I'm not done talking to you, Sam-"

"And I couldn't care less Ana," I stated and yanked my arm from her grasp before swiftly making my way over to Chris.

"Here's Sam now," Chris said and handed the phone to me.

I ruffled his hair and spoke, "Eddie?"

"I'm on my way. Who was watching him?"

"Ana was, I was in my office."

"Okay, give me 5 minutes."

"Okay, be careful."

The phone went silent and I knew Eddie was pissed; the call was ended and I shivered. I pulled Christopher into a hug and kissed the top of his head, "Does anything hurt? Like an achy pain? Can you move your arm and leg for me?"

"I'm okay. My arm and leg hurts but it's more of a stinging pain." He said as he moved his limbs around.

I nodded and sure enough, Eddie came running over 5 minutes later. His truck was in the middle of the parking lot making me laugh to myself. I stood up and let Eddie take over, I held my hands on my head and shook my head, sending another glare toward Ana.

He picked his son up and walked over to Ana, "What the hell happened?"

"I guess Chris and skateboards don't get along too well-"

"You let him skateboard?!"

"I'm so sorry, Edmundo. We didn't know one of the kids brought a skateboard-"

"You didn't know? He could've broken his neck." Eddie set his son down and I called him over, I held him in my arms. He had tears in his eyes and I hated seeing him like this.

"I know, and I feel terrible, the other kids were showing him how to ride it, they didn't know that-"

"Didn't they? Nah, let's push the kid with CP around on the skateboard for fun, you let them make a fool out of my son!"

"Eddie," I called but he ignored me.

"I-I promise you that's not what happened here."

"Dad," Christopher called.

Eddie broke out of his enraged trance and walked over to me and Chris. He picked his son up and walked towards his truck. "We are done for today," Eddie yelled.

I tugged on Eddie's arm and he looked at me with an angered look but when we locked eyes he calmed. "I'll meet you at home, okay?"

"Yeah," Eddie carried on to his truck and I sighed. I went back inside the school and packed up my stuff. I ran to my car and drove home, I walked inside and Eddie was getting an ice pack for Chris who was already in his room.

"How bad is it?"

"Not terrible. The principal already called, they sent the kid with the skateboard home early."

"Good, I think we need to have a chat with Chris though,"

"About what?"

"Eddie, Christopher knows he shouldn't be on a skateboard, it's too dangerous. He needs to understand how badly he could be hurt."

Eddie shook his head, "You want me to tell my kid that he can't do something? No, he's my kid."

I flinched, "I didn't mean it like that," I whispered.

Eddie gave me a weird look before sighing. "I know, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to snap at you. I'm upset with the school, not you."

"I know, I don't want him to be hurt, but I don't want him to hurt himself either."

Eddie pulled me into a hug, "I know, I know. I don't want that either."

I sighed in the hug and nuzzled my head into Eddie's chest. "I love you,"

"I love you too," The hug broke and Eddie nodded before speaking, "I'm going to go talk to him."

April 26th, 2020

A few days had passed, and Eddie and Buck were being very secretive about what they were doing. They had both taken time off and were building something. I didn't see what it was until I took Chris to the park, there stood Eddie, Buck, and Carla. They had built a skateboard for Christopher, I couldn't help but smile. Christopher got hooked up into the contraption while Eddie smiled and hugged me. "You're such a great dad," I whispered.

"And you, are going to be an outstanding mother," I smiled at his words, "Let's get married in August, then we have plenty of time before next summer to have our baby."

I laughed. "Still eager, huh?"

"Only for you,"

I shoved him away from me playfully, "Go skateboard with your son."

"Alright, don't miss me too much,"

"What are you? 14?"

He just shrugged and took off running with Buck, they pushed Chris through the park. Carla was running to keep up and record the beautiful scene. My hand found its way to my tummy and I laughed to myself. I can't wait to start my family with him, I can't wait to be a mom, and I can't wait to have everything I've ever dreamed of.
