Sam's POV:

December 23rd, 2019

"You weren't there. You didn't see his face. He hates me."

"Eddie, your son doesn't hate you. Just because you work on Christmas doesn't mean he loves you any less."

"He went straight to his room Samantha, he looked so devastated."

I sighed, "He can come stay with me until you get home. I don't want him to be alone. Plus Carla can spend time with her family too."

"Are you sure?"

"100%,"

"Thank you, you're the best."

"I try."

I heard Eddie laugh, "I miss you,"

"I miss you too, I'll be over tomorrow night, okay?"

"Okay, I- I will see you then."

I was slightly confused by his hesitation. "Okay, bye babes."

"Bye,"

The line went dead and I smiled to myself.

"What's that smile for?" Buck asked.

"I'm just really excited to be with my family for Christmas this year,"

Buck wrapped his arm around me, "It really hasn't been the same without you."

I laughed, "Yeah, I don't know. You know that I have never liked Christmas. It's just lousy for the most part. But this year I have friends and family to spend that special time with."

"And Eddie,"

"Who?"

Buck laughed and shoved me lightly, careful of my leg. I've been doing good with healing, it's been harder than the last time but I expected that. Eddie, Maddie, and I have been continuing to go to rehab.

It's been really good for all of us, Eddie never admits it but it's taking a large weight off his shoulders. It's good to see him happy again, he seems to be happier all the way around.

We have been spending a lot of time together lately, he hasn't missed a date night since the fight, and we haven't had to deal with Lena in months, Buck showed me the footage of what Eddie had said to Lena and she ended up getting fired from her fire department, I've heard that she moved out of state which is reassuring, I figured she'd try and take it out on me, Chris, or Eddie, I'm grateful she hasn't though, especially since I can't protect myself, not in the state I'm currently in.

I was informed by the school that I was to be able to go back after Christmas break. I was really excited, but for now, I had to worry about last-minute Christmas shopping.

I was excited to spoil Christopher, Eddie, Buck, Maddie, and Nic. I haven't done anything for Christmas since I moved to California so you could say I was ready to buy a ton of gifts.

I had already gone shopping on Black Friday and Cyber Monday, but I had some last-minute gifts to pick up. I was walking around with a giant smile on my face, it felt good to be able to walk and not feel constant pain. The 26th will be 8 weeks with this brace on, they're saying as long as I'm careful, I can go without the brace, and by week 10, I will be in Physical Therapy.

I walked into a few toy stores and found some Lego sets for Christopher, that's what he had asked for so I bought him a handful of different sets. I bought Maddie some blankets, pillows, a jacket, and decorations for her and Chimney's apartment. Buck will be getting a new TV since he broke the last one, and a cookbook because that's his new 'hobby', he will also be getting his apartment back to himself... yeah, Eddie asked me to move in with him. I agreed, I know we said we were taking things slowly but lately, I've been over there almost daily, I've stayed there for a week at a time, I have clothes in his closet and dresser, I have shower products in his shower, and I've had a key for months. So besides me moving in, I am getting Eddie a leather bracelet, a couple of framed pictures, a new phone, and a pair of shoes that he has been looking at for months, and Nic was getting some cute nursing clothes and accessories that I have picked up for the last few months. I also got Bobby, Athena, Hen, Karen, and Chimney a few gift cards.
