Amelia groaned as the curtains swung open, she glanced with one eye open that hermione was reading AGAIN. 'why in bloody hell, she has to read this early' Amelia thought to herself while muttering incoherent words under her breath.she glanced at the the clock beside her on the table, it showed 6:35 a.m. Amelia decided to wake up and went inside bathroom and got ready, seeing granger still studying when she came out, she thought to better go outside and roam then to watch the bookworm.
She was wearing a black jeans and a white shirt with a gryffindor tie, and a gryffindor headband. She rolled her sleeves while descending down the stairs of the common room. She saw two heads near the fireplace, she decided to check who that was and it came out to be her favourite gryffindors.
"Morning boys" She greeted them in a sing song voice.
"Morning shorty, what you doing down here this early?" Fred asked, with slight amusement.
"Well I could ask you the same" Amelia grinned back.
"So what you we are doing...." George began while give Amelia a knowing look.
"Oh yess, can I also join you, its been long since I pranked someone" Amelia said with a glint of excitement in her eyes. the two red heads nodded with grins and stood up.
"Come we'll explain you on the way" They said in unison.
Amelia stood up and scooped between them interwining their arms. They stepped outside the common room. They explained their whole plan to her till they reached the great hall. Their arms still interwined, Amelia lifted her legs and let the boys carry her.
When they stepped in the great hall her gaze first met her uncle, seeing her like this being carried he made a scowl and got back to his work, they all laughed at his reaction and sat down at the gryffindor table.
After having a short breakfast, they got up and just outside the hall they met their victim of the prank. They gave each other grins and started to act on their plan.
"Mr. Filch" Amelia called, till the time both fred and george hid themselves behind the pillars nearby. Filch turned around and saw her waving like a child, with the same disgusted face he went towards her and asked. "What do you want?"
Amelia tried to act innocent and said "Well Mr. Filch I just wanted to confess something, I have been watching since I have arrived, you are the most hardworking and loyal person in the whole castle, Hogwarts is lucky to have such a brave personality like yourself"
Amelia finished with fake sincerety, and by seeing Filch making proud faces Fred and George snickkered silently.
"I know I have played a really big role in keeping hogwarts safe" said filch by patting Mr. Norris in his hands.He turned around was just about to turn until he heard"One- two- three and — BOOM"
The whole corridor filled with smoke and everyone there started coughing, amidst the smoke the prankster trio tried escape after what mischief they've done but collide with something and were stopped on their tracks. They saw it was professor Mcgonnacal who had a bewildered expression on her face clearly shocked about what just happened.
As the smoke cleared an amusing sight treated the eyes, Filch was all dressed in orange and purple frock and his hair were green in color. The whole corridor roared in laughter including the trio that was the loudest.
They saw Minerva had a small smile on her face, but she quickly replaced with furious look. Filch was yelling god knows what, the trio again tried to escape but getting that one look from mcgonnacal they froze there, they understood they were caught red handed.
"Detention you three!" shouted Mcgonnacal but after seeing they were not at all bothered she added "Separately!".
Their jaws dropped, having detention wasn't a matter of concern unless they were with each other but separately sounded like a punishment indeed.
~~TIME SKIPS TO EVENING~~
Amelia was on her way to the black lake where she would meet snuffles. She reached there laid down on the ground waiting for snuffles to show up. She quickly drifted into sleep.
Soon it started pouring, which caused Amelia to wake up abruptly. She checked her watch it was 6 pm now. And snuffles didnt show up. Strange. She thought to herself. And decided to head back into the castle. She was drenched. The DADA classroom was not far away so disturb her godfather's peace.
She knocked on the door, waiting for him to open it. The lights were out only a small bulb at the end of the corridor was lit up. Soon Remus opened the door and was startled when Amelia shouted— "BOOOOO"
"For god's sake Amelia, people get scared" Remus exclaimed with a hand on his heart. Amelia chuckled and stepped inside.
"I knew about people but didnt knew furry creatures get scared too" She laughed and Remus rolled his eyes.
"How come you're so drenched?" Remus asked.
"Cant spill my top secret, sorry" Amelia said sarcastically.
"Its not good to roam around the castle when its raining and its almost dusk and 'you know'" Remus said in a stern voice. Amelia understood what he meant by 'you know'.
"Sorry mum" She rolled her eyes and asked him to dry her out, he did.
"Okay so what would you like to have?" Remus asked while Amelia sat on the couch near the fireplace.
"Umm maybe a pizza, some butterbeer and fries please" Amelia said sarcastically again. He rolled his eyes and brought two cups of hot chocolate and sat down near her.
"Hey thats not what I ordered, I'll give it a 0.5 out of 10 for such a service. Amelia exclaimed dramatically.
"How did I even tolerate you all these years." Remus chuckled.
"Oh and I heard you are having your first detention, congratulations, proud of you.". He said sarcastically.
"Oh yeah someone's getting all the news" Amelia rolled her eyes.
"Cheers to my first detention at Hogwarts" She cheered and they both bumped there cups.
"By the way I was quite impressed with your prank" He said sipping his hot choclate and chuckling.
"There was no one who wasn't impressed, I even saw Mcgonnacal smile for a bit too" She said proudly.
"Great" Remus said chuckling.
"So where were you roaming in such a weather?" Remus asked.
"Just catching up with Snuffles, but he didnt show up, god knows why, I thought he was a punctual dog" she said shrugging.
"Even dogs are being punctual and then there you are always late in my class" He said shaking his head.
"I am serious" said Amelia looking at Remus. 'nope you are his daughter' Remus thought to himself. He raised his hands in surrender and made a sign to zip his mouth.
"I am a bit worried for him why didnt he come, he comes everyday, I just hope he is safe." Amelia said while glancing in the fire.
"But you know what just shrug it off, lets play wizards chess, I bet you've been craving to lose from me" Amelia continued with a playful grin.
Remus always admired this quality of Amelia, it was something she inherited from her mother. Sadness was no where around Amelia, she could lighten up any moment filled with sorrow with just some words. She had a playful aura around her 24/7, she was the most cheerful girl, could find happiness in all aspects of life.
She even had the power to make Snape laugh. He always wished no sadness comes around her, he wont be able to bear the sight of his bubbly goddaughter having even a tint of sadness around her. He always wished for her to be happy.
