KEEPER MEETING

Life was strange in the Glade. Life just carried on as normal, even though a group of fifty teenagers were trapped in between towering Maze walls.

The sun rose each morning and then set each evening, Newt told Aurora about how the sun hits the Glade at the perfect moment right before it hit the Maze walls and they then watched the sun set each evening. Supplies kept coming up, and the box kept going down — which reminded Aurora, Alby and Jake about their 'escape plan.'

"When are we are going to try it?" Aurora asked the two as they joined her in the Med-jack hut.

They were huddled in the furthest corner, away from Clint and Jeff's unwanted ears. Alex knew about the plan, but he was too busy patching up the new Greenie who failed at building.

"I'm not sure," Jake murmured quietly, "depends on how people feel about it. We'll need to hold a Keepers Meeting."

"Agreed," said Alby, watching Aurora intently as she made some more medical creams from herbs out of the gardens.

"What do you want me to do?" asked Aurora, "Seeing as I'm not a Keeper."

"You're coming," Jake said firmly, Alby nodding in agreement as well. "We trust you; it was your idea so you should be present when it's put forward."

Aurora smiled. "Well thank you, I feel honoured."

The little meeting was cut short when the Greenie cried, "Lysander! My name's Lysander!"

Aurora laughed quietly, feeing pleased for the boy. "Hello Lysander, welcome to the Glade."

Lysander's cheeks turned a shade of red at an alarming rate and he scratched the back of his neck awkwardly. Alex began to snigger.

Alby sent a death glare in Alex's direction and that immediately shut him up.

"So, what time do you want me to come to the meeting then?" Aurora asked, quickly packing her stuff away.

"Well, we'll tell everyone that a Keeper Meeting is taking place and then you can just come straight to the Homestead." Jake explained, sending a glance in Alex's direction which Aurora immediately noticed.

"Good," Aurora nodded, "off you pop then."

The two boys shook their heads at Aurora before leaving the Med-jack hut, leaving Aurora, Alex, Clint, Jeff and Lysander.

"How are you finding life at the Glade so far Lysander?" Aurora asked, making her way over to him and Alex and sitting down in a nearby seat.

"I-it's okay... Strange — um — it's strange not remembering." Lysander stuttered as Alex finished bandaging his cut.

"You'll get used to it," Aurora said softly, "I've only been here for a month, but it feels like I've been here my whole life. It was frightening at first... Being the only girl and all, but I got used to it. You have a family here, we are your family. Gladers stick together, yeah?"
