RIVERSIDE KISSAurora awoke screaming, sweat dripping down her neck and several concerned faces peering down at her. She wiped her eyes with the back of her hand and immediately saw Minho's face laced with worry.
"Hey," she said weakly in an attempted to lighten up the mood. "You all okay?"
Minho scoffed and crouched down beside her, his dark eyes staring directly into hers. Aurora gulped and hastily looked away, her cheeks immediately becoming aflame.
"You all okay?" Minho scoffed, mimicking her tone. "What a stupid shuckin' thing to say — "
" — don't be mean." Gally scolded, his eyebrows furrowing at Minho. However, when he turned to Aurora, they softened, like a candle by a flame, wax melting down.
Minho rolled his eyes at Gally and then cheekily stuck his tongue out at Aurora which caused her to giggle slightly.
Her eyes then switched to Alby, whose lips were pressed into a thin line which she quickly recognised as concern — the same expression he wore when Newt...
A topic that remained behind closed doors.
Aurora wriggled out of her sleeping bag and dusted her beige trousers down, bits of dust and leaves sticking to the back of her thighs.
The sky was a pale blue, with hues of champagne pink and honey suckle yellow blending together. It was early in the morning, could be no later than six o clock and Aurora could tell by the slightly disgruntled expression on Alex's face.
He was clearly not a morning person.
"What happened?" Alex asked, crouching down beside Minho, delicately placing a hand upon Aurora's knee which was shaking slightly.
She swallowed thickly and steadily made her way onto her feet, clingy onto Minho and Alex for dear life, fearing she would topple over.
"Just a bad dream," Aurora said quietly, her voice dropping down a semi-tone. "Nothing to worry about, honest."
Minho shook his head, Alex frowned, Alby raised an eyebrow, Gally rolled his eyes and Newt obviously didn't get the 'be serious' memo as he stuck his tongue out at Aurora.
This resulted in a harsh jab of the elbows by Gally.
"Don't give me that klunk." Alby said, striding forwards and directing the others to follow. They were quickly heading towards the Homestead, the door already being unlocked. "Sit." he instructed, and Aurora sat on one of the raised benches, the boys all staring back at her.
She sighed and leant forward, resting her hand in the palms of her hands. Chocolate hair hung limply, and untidy nails all battered and bitten clung tightly to her scalp.
Aurora felt as if she was going insane. All those memory dreams seemed to be like smoke. She couldn't grab one to analyse before it disappeared, being carried away on the gentleness of the wind.
