She awoke, the ground hard beneath her and the sun streaming in through the wooden bars. Aurora pushed herself up and sat crossed legged, waiting for someone to arrive and unlock the door and set her free.

Several minutes went by and no one had come. She huffed and scurried closer to the barred door, wrapping her hands around the poles. On the other side of the door was a tightly secured knot — the only thing keeping Aurora trapped within the Slammer.

The gaps between each bar were big enough for her to slip her hands between, she reached around and began to untie the knot.

Let me the shuck out, Aurora thought as her nimble fingers untied the knot, looping it under and away.

It took about five minutes, but the rope quickly fell to the floor and Aurora pushed the door forward and scrambled out, turning around to push the door shut behind her.

The Gladers were up and about, but no one really took any notice of her. She saw Alby, Newt, Minho, Alex, Gally, Frypan and Winston stood in a circle, Chuck watching them from afar. Aurora bounded up to them, hugging Minho from behind and popping her head out to the side from behind him.

"How the shuck did you get out?" Alby asked, looking to her in disbelief, his mouth opened — gobsmacked.

"I untied the knot." Aurora said simply, causing Minho and Alex to burst out laughing.

The Keeper of the Runners pulled her from behind him, so she was stood beside him and Gally. Minho kept one hand on Aurora's waist protectively, giving it a light squeeze causing angry butterflies to swarm in her lower stomach.

"Y-you untied the knot?" Alby asked in disbelief, his eyes wide like saucers.

"What, like it was hard?" Aurora replied, causing Alex and Newt to burst out laughing — much to Alby's displeasure.

"I think you may need to tighten the shuck security for the Slammer." Gally stated, smacking First in Command merrily on the back.

He didn't feel merry.

"You hungry?" Minho quietly asked her and she nodded, him then leading Aurora away from the group towards Frypan's kitchen where he was working very hard for breakfast.

She boldly walked into the kitchen and saw Minho bracing himself for Fry's anger. Rule one: never, never ever, interrupt Frypan when he's cooking — or you'll get up with a frying pan slung lazily at your head.
