LETTER TO THE LIVINGAurora awoke the next morning, still tightly held in Minho's arms. She shuffled slightly so she could face him and noticed how he was snoring ever so quietly. With a content smile, Aurora turned back over and tried to get back to sleep.
But that obviously wasn't going to happen.
"Why is Minho in your bed?" Aurora looked up and saw Jake leaning over the edge of Alex's bed with his eyebrows raised.
"Why are you in Alex's?" she sassed back causing a sigh to emit from Jake. His dark hair was lay flat on his head and he had slightly dark bags under his eyes — probably due to stress from running the Glade.
"Because he's my boyfriend..." Jake replied with a 'duh' tone. Aurora groaned and shuffled closer to Minho in an attempt to get rid of Jake's morning interrogation, but it wasn't working.
"Well Minho's my... friend." her voice faltered on the last word of her sentence, causing her voice to drop and a small frown to appear on her face.
"You really like him don't you?" Jake asked really quietly which caused Aurora to nod and then hide her head under the pillows.
"Don't tell him though," Aurora pleaded, "honestly I'd rather not get rejected, thanks."
"You won't — "
"Urgh." Minho groaned, finally waking up from his deep slumber. "Good morning..." he trailed off once he noticed Jake was looking at him. "Shuck."
"Shuck indeed you slinthead." Jake replied in a stern voice. Aurora knew that Jake was joking, but it was amusing to watch Minho looking like he was going to klunk himself.
"I-I'll be going — "
" — no you shucking won't." Jake interrupted, "I have a bone to pick with you." Minho visibly gulped and Aurora had to stuff the blanket into her mouth to contain her giggles.
Minho's mouth went dry as he waited for Jake continue, so this is what he got for being nice? Next time I won't be nice, shuckin' slinthead.
"So..." Jake began, staring intently at Minho. "Don't you have running to do?"
"Yeah... wait what?"
Aurora couldn't stop herself anymore and burst into a loud fit of giggles which as a result, caused Jake to start laughing as well.
Minho looked between the two with utter confusion written all over his face. His eyes darted between them like he was observing a tennis match.
"I said don't you have running to do?" Jake repeated more firmly just as Alex was staring to wake up.
"Right... I'll be off then..." Minho said, still feeling rather perplexed at the situation. He then rolled over Aurora ("Get off me, you big lump!") and left the Homestead, smirking on his way out.
