So, I changed my mind about the 'coming soon' because I'm a tad excited, so here's chapter 1!

Fair warning, this is gonna have shorter chapters than what I have normally been writing for my other fanfics.

But please, still vote comment and let me know you're there. It's really encouraging when you know people are actually reading and enjoying the story!

Clementine dreamt of cawing and the fluttering of wings for the fourth time that week. Her heartbeat in synchronisation with the beating of the wings, feathers blocking her vision.

A sharp scream awoke her from her dream. Sitting up in her bed, she glanced over to where she knew that the sound had originated.

Poor, Jessie, she found herself thinking again. Every night, like clockwork, the girl had nightmares she found herself screaming awake from. Clem couldn't help but worry for the girl.

Sure, Clem had nightmares, too. Right now, the birds seemed to be reoccurring, but not every night. Not like how Jess had them.

Pulling the dusty blankets off, Clementine walked over and up the small set of stairs to where Bea and Jessie sat side by side. Clementine knelt down, smiling softly at the girl.

"You think I'm losing it, don't you, Bea?" Jessie asked her sister.

Bea was quick to shake her head, "No, I don't think that. None of us does, right, Clem?"

When the girls looked her way, Clementine shook her head right away, "Definitely not, Jess. They're just nightmares, it happens to the best of us."

Bea smiled gratefully, before leading her sister back down to the pillow. "Just go back to sleep. Yeah? It's okay."

Jessie's pants, turned to whimpers before her breathing steadied and she fell back asleep. Clementine leaned forward, pulling the blankets up further on the girl she saw as a sister also.

Bea, Jessie, Billy, Spike and Clementine had basically grown up together. Bea and Jessie were actually sisters, who bonded with Billy in a workhouse they had been forced to live in.

The three came across the twins - Spike and Clementine - not long after they'd left. The five were now as thick as thieves, building a family where they'd had none.

Bea and Clementine stood up, both of them heading upstairs to climb out onto the roof of the building they were living in. The stars shone brightly against the dark sky above them, the moon bathing the streets in a soft white glow.

"I don't know what to do, Clem," Bea said softly as she sat down. "I feel like she's getting worse."

Clementine sat down beside the girl, sighing. "I don't know what to tell you, Bea. I agree, it does seem like she's getting worse. But we're going to get her help, okay? We'll pick up some more jobs and once we have the money, we'll take her to see a doctor."
