Things had been difficult for a while after Leo had left. Even though he had told her he would come back for her, Clementine knew the chances of that actually being possible. She said she understood, but that didn't make watching him leave any easier.
Returning to the cellar with tear-stained cheeks had shocked the rest of the group, all of them immediately crowding her and asking what had happened. Clementine could have sworn that Spike and Bea were preparing to hunt Leo down before she told them what happened.
Well, almost everything. She had left out that he had had to leave in order to have Billy freed, just like Leo had asked.
They were all understandably shocked, but on some level, not surprised. In standing, Leo was a Prince first and an Irregular second. But at the end of the day, they all knew who he was at heart.
Spike, Bea, Jessie and Billy had tried to cheer her up, but she just needed time. It made it a bit harder to forget, however, when her friends were all so happy. Jessie and Spike had sparked up a small relationship and Billy had finally gotten the guts to ask Bea out after the whole 'nearly dying because of a Rip in the universe' thing.
Clementine was happy for her friends of course, but seeing them just reminded her of how much she missed Leo. She missed the sound of his voice, the feel of his hands, the taste of his lips - everything.
As the months went by, Clementine started to get herself back into a routine and being more present in her own life. After a while of not hearing from the Prince, she figured that he wasn't coming back. So, things began to go back to some sense of normal. Well, the new normal, at least.
Since Sherlock had passed through the Rip, Watson had been contracting the group for more cases. With all the extra work they were no longer struggling to make rent, meaning Billy wasn't having to risk his life in fights, and the others weren't having to steal or work low paying jobs.
They all realised that Watson was overpaying them - they had told him on several occasions. But any time they brought it up to him, he shut them down, telling them they were being ridiculous.
It was clear to everyone involved that he was trying to make amends for what he had done to Bea and Jessie's mother, as well as looking out for Jessie for Sherlock.
They all appreciated it more than he could understand. They used to fear being thrown out of their home and now, thanks to the Doctor, they wouldn't have to anymore.
It had now been six months since Leo had left and things had begun to get somewhat easier. Clementine didn't cry as much anymore and she had been enjoying working on cases to keep her mind off of things.
She also noticed that her nightmares had stopped completely. The nightmares that involved dead bodies, that was. Telling the others and Watson about it, they all came to the conclusion that her abilities must have appeared with the Rip and since there were no more monsters being created, she was no longer connected.
