The following day, Rosalis gave news to Edmund that there was business to attend to. Edmund sat in his throne, staring at the huge line of villagers, waiting to be given permission for their requests. Rosalis stood next to him, her hands clasped behind her back. A priest came up to him, bowing his head.
"I would like to ask if I can have funding to repair the church." He said.
"How much do you need?" Edmund replied.
"Ten shillings should do it."
"I shall allow you twenty."
Rosalis reached into a large chest and grabbed twenty shillings. She walked up to the priest and handed him the gold. The priest nodded several times.
"Thank you, o noble and wise king." He said, and then went on his way. Edmund looked over to Rosalis.
"How many more supplicants are there?" He asked.
"285." She replied. Edmund sighed. "I never told you that this job would be easy or glamorous."
Edmund nodded to Rosalis.
"Next!" She called out.
