"Are those aliens?" The billionaire demanded in a hushed whisper, his hands tightly gripping the boy's shoulders.
"No, they're here for ComicCon." The demigod replied sarcastically, his voice equally as quiet. "Yes they're aliens!"

LESCY OOZIX WAS GOING TO BE brought to justice in space prison. The Guardians assured this. As the Avengers (and Doctor Strange) saw the space heroes off, with Robin standing at the side, leaning against a fallen tree that had yet to be cleaned up, if it ever would, the demigod couldn't help the feeling of unease creeping up on him.
The Guardian's ship blasted off, and even when it had been a full day since they left, Robin could not shake the worry bubbling deep within him.
The Avengers, he found, did not help either. Their sole purpose now that humanity was freed from enslavement, was finding out why Robin had not been affected by the mind control. He was running out of excuses to evade the question. Currently he found himself on the roof of the Avengers Tower, Loki sitting beside him.
Despite what you would think, with Loki being a god and murderer, Robin had taken quite a liking to the raven haired man. He would consider them friends. The sun was below skyline, a rosy orange colour filling the sky. The two friends sat in silence, enjoying the sound of traffic below and the sight of the darkening sky.
The silence, naturally, had to be broken eventually. Loki glanced over at the demigod. "They won't believe anything you say," He stated bluntly. He was not one for sugar coating things like this.
Robin stared ahead, exhaling loudly from his nose. "That just means I can say anything I damn well please," He muttered in reply. The Avengers, no matter what he said, would not believe him. Why would they? They did not trust him, plain and simple. The only ones who even liked him anymore was Sam and Wanda - Loki did not count as an Avenger - and even with them, he felt the trust begin to diminish. He should have seen it coming. Nothing ever went his way, anyway.
"We could leave," Loki said suddenly. This time, Robin did look back at him. He did not tilt his head, did not furrow his eyebrows. He just stared. Loki looked away, as if embarrassed. "The Avengers-" He said the word so spitefully, Robin almost recoiled in shock. "-will never trust us. Robin, we are wasting our time, our potential here. What is the point of staying?"
Robin open his mouth to retort, to defend his friends, but he couldn't. For once, he had no words. Nothing to say. He frowned, his eyes angling downwards as thoughts invaded his mind. What was the point of staying? All the Avengers ever wanted was to use him. To get information out of him. Maybe it was not their intention, maybe it was the government's agenda, but it happened. You can't deny the truth. So, when Robin looked back up, staring Loki dead in the eyes, he surprised both of them with the words he spoke.
"Where are we going?" It was a question, yes, but also an affirmation. He would take Loki's hand, leave this place behind. Perhaps it was not a good idea - Loki was a villain, was he not? Reformed, sure, but still a broken person at heart. And broken people often turned to bad as an outlet. He did this, and it was more than likely he would be branded enemy of the state. Outlawed in all of America. He would have to cut contact with his friends from both Camps, and Kara and Wanda and Sam... but he would be free, in a sense. Free from the chains binding him to always do the right thing.
"Running away, are you, son of Zeus?" Teased a voice behind the pair on the roof.
Robin and Loki stood up, weapon in their hands, at the blink of an eye. Perks of godlike speed. Robin, however, relaxed upon seeing Morpheus there. He put a hand on Loki's arm to get him to put it down as well.
"Fuck off, Morpheus," Robin hissed. "You had your fun."
Morpheus shrugged, or so it seemed. "Believe me, with the alarming godly presence on this building, it is the last place I would like to be. However, I've decided I'm feeling generous." He took a step towards the young demigod, and placed a hand on his forehead. Robin went to slap his hand away, but the god grabbed it with his other hand. Morpheus, in Latin, chanted something under his breath, and pulled his hand away.
Robin stumbled back, holding his head in pain. "What the actual fuck!" He screeched.
Morpheus smiled. "You will thank me later, Robin Carter. Good luck." And he was gone once more.
Loki gripped his friend's shoulders, checking to make sure he was alright. The pain in Robin's head disappeared, and when it did, it help as if he knew things he shouldn't.
"Robin?" Loki asked, concern lacing his voice.
"I-" Robin swallowed. "I think he may have shown me powers I didn't.. I didn't know I had," He said, his voice no higher than a whisper. If Loki was a mortal, he would have missed it.
Before Loki could say something, anything, both boys froze. Their enhanced senses had both picked up the same thing - footsteps coming up the stairs. "Pack a bag, we'll leave tonight," Loki whispered to the boy, and the two separated, acting as if they weren't conspiring.
Opening the door to the roof was Natasha. She regarded the two scarcely, but otherwise ignored them as she took out her phone, dialing a number. Robin and Loki, deciding to be polite before disappearing completely, left her to herself, each going back inside the tower and to their separate rooms, avoiding all suspicious as they did.
Robin, once in his room, allowed him to collapse. His body sunk to the floor, wanting nothing more than to release all his angst, but he was too numb to cry. Then he had a thought. Would anyone even care that he was gone? Loki, of course, had Thor, who, despite how he and Robin did not always get along, obviously thought the world of his brother. It was bittersweet. And Robin knew that this choice he had chosen would have consequences. It was up to the Fates who would face them, though.
just a little bonus surprise here... i went on picrew and tried to make robin (but ofc you can picture him however you want, this is just my idea of him) (the art doesn't belong to me btw)
