ROBIN WAS partially staticky. In the literal sense. His body, ever since he had gotten off the floor hours prior, had been emitting sparks. The lights in his room had been acting up as well. It was strange, even for him. It had not been this way since he was a child, unable to understand or control his powers. He powered through, though. He made it back to the roof, where he assumed he would be meeting Loki. He had his bag on one shoulder, only containing the essentials - clothes and ambrosia. His phone was left behind. He had no use of it. It would only attract monster, and the Avengers. He had learnt not to underestimate technology.
Loki soon joined Robin on the roof. They both seemed to have the same idea, to dress up in darker clothing to better blend in with the night. They exchanged a nod, a confirmation that they would be going through with this.
Robin gave a sideways grin. "You ever been to Canada, Wednesday Adams?" He asked his companion, who rolled his eyes at the nickname.
Loki shook his head. "I don't suppose one of those new powers is teleportation."
Robin smirked. "I think I might have it in me." Then he frowned, upon realizing that he had no idea how any of these powers worked. "I don't know how to use it, though. Will you settle for flying, or better yet, public transportation?"
Loki sighed. "I would rather not sit in a bus full of stupid mortals," He huffed.
Robin raised an eyebrow. "You're free to stay here, then," He countered.
Loki gestured towards the street. "Fine, lead the way." He said, exasperated. Robin smirked in reply, grabbed the god's hand and flew them down to the sidewalk below.
The pair managed to catch a bus this late, getting a weird look from the driver, who had undoubtable recognized them and was wondering why two Avengers (if they ever even were that) were getting on a bus at one in the morning.
Loki and Robin settled down at the far back of the bus. There was only one other person on board, besides the driver, and they were uninterested in the two who just boarded.
"See, this isn't so bad," Robin teased, eyes looking over the vehicle for potential threats. "It's not even full."
Loki rolled his eyes and leaned back against the seat, arms crossed. He did not respond, and chose instead to stare out the window to his left. Robin took that as a sign that he had won.
The night dragged on, and Robin and Loki got off the bus by the Canadian border. They got through with no problem and made found another bus, ending up in Hamilton, Ontario. By the time the sun rose, the pair had found a motel to stay at for the time being. They had to lay low, and discuss their plans.
"We shouldn't draw attention to ourselves," Robin stated, pacing the room as Loki sat on one of the two chair that were at the small table. With the limited money they had brought along with them, the room they got was quite small, but it worked. "I know it's going to be so hard for your dramatic ass."
Loki scoffed. "I can keep a low profile, as you Midgardians say," He said under his breath.
Robin paused to give him a look. "We need to find a way to stop the Avengers from finding out where we are. Strange will probably help them find us, and I bet those magic powers will find us," He continued. "Your powers of illusion will only get us so far." He ran a hand through his hair, combing back the mess that it was.
"You're saying we stay on the run until they give up?" Loki questioned, eyebrows furrowing. "If I know my brother and his friends, I know that that is not something they will be willing to do."
Robin shrugged, and sat down in the other chair. "You have a better idea?" Before Loki could say what Robin was sure he wanted to say, he added, "We aren't going to kill them."
The god of mischief pursed his lips. "We could fake our deaths," He suggested.
Robin was unimpressed, this much was evident from the bored expression on his face. "You've done that like three times already," He deadpanned.
"It's worked every time," Loki defended himself.
The demigod sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose. "Let's just go find something to eat," He murmured, getting up and getting the rest of their money, putting it in his pocket. He grabbed the key to their room and forced his friend out of there and out onto the streets in search of a cheep restaurant.
In the meantime, back in New York, the Avengers had taken a hot minute to figure out that Robin and Loki were both gone. FRIDAY only just notified them when Tony finally noticed that they were not there and asked his AI about it.
They had Stephan Strange locate them, and, naturally, take them there. He complied, as much as he did not want to, but Loki was on a watchlist, they could not have him - or Robin Carter - running around unsupervised.
So, a small group found themselves in Canada. This group included Stephan Strange, of course, as well as Thor, Wanda, Steve and Vision. They located the god and demigod walking in an empty park, and quickly went to confront them.
"Robin, Loki, what are you doing here?" Steve demanded loudly, using his "Captain-America-is-disappointed-in-you" voice.
Upon hearing this, Robin sighed. "That was quick," He said to Loki, who nodded in agreement and quickly cast an illusion that would warrant them enough time to get away. With the heroes distracted, they ran back to the streets, and quickly entered a shop that seemed unoccupied.
"Uh, hi?" Said a voice from in the shop. Robin and Loki froze.
