Roman was writing something on a big piece of paper, as he picked his art materials from all across the floor to draw with then. Patton saw him from the kitchen and he got curious.
"What are you doing Roman?" Patton asked, aproaching his best friend.
"I'm glad you ask! I'm preparing a poster. Logan asked me to do something creative to help Thomas learn the plot, so what a better way than-"
"You've done it wrong," Patton interupted him.
"W-what?" Roman paused, confused, looking up, "What have I done wrong?"
"See here?" Patton pointed to a list with a few numbers
"Yes...?"
"You've written the number 1 with purple. Number 1 is blue. Number 2 is green, not red. number 3 is yellow, 4 is purple, 5 is red, and 6 is-"
"Padre, what you are saying makes no sense," Roman said.
"What do you mean?" Patton wondered, looking at his friend back
"Numbers have no colours except the ones you want to colour them in..."
"Yes they do!" Patton exclaimed, now slightly mad, "Every number is a different colour! And words too. They each have a series of colours! For example, your name, Roman, is mostly red, it has different shades varying from pinkish red to a tone more orange, forming a wave, and then it has golden pieces, a stike of yellow and two of white."
"Since when..."
"Don't you see it? Seriously?" Patton was now surprised.
"No, I don't see anything, at least nothing of what you are telling me," Roman slowly stood up, without taking his sight away from Patton.
"But- But it's so obvious! You name is red and white and yellow and gold, while Virgil's is purple and black, indigo and yellow, Janus's yellow and green and balck and-"
"Patton, wait," Roman put his hands on the shoulders of his friend.
"Yeah?"
"Are you telling me you see colours in words?"
"Uh, yes. Each word and number is composed of one or more colours and-"
"We are going to see Logan," Roman stated, as he held Patton by the hand and started to walk towards the logical side's room.
"Why?" Patton asked.
"Because there's something wrong with you"
---
"So what you are telling me is that you associate colours to words?" Logan asked, as he examinated his friend who was sitting in a chair, shortly after Roman finished explaining the issue.
"Yes..." Patton mumbled, fidgeting with the sleves of his cat hoodie, feeling slightly embarased.
"Do you also do things like associating sounds to a form or a feeling, or possibly tasting things and associating it to a shape?"
"Um, yes. I- I often do that. I don't understand why-"
"Alright then, I know what's happening here," Logan interrupted Patton.
"And what is it?" Roman asked, concerned for his pal, "Is Patton ok?"
"Of course he's ok, there's no need to worry. What happens is that Patton obviously has synesthesia," Logan triumphaly said.
"I have what now?" Patton asked.
"Synesthesia is an anomalous blending of the senses in which the stimulation of one modality simultaneously produces sensation in a different modality. Synesthetes hear colors, feel sounds and taste shapes," Logan exclaimed.
"That's what I do!" Patton exclaimed.
"Synesthesia? I've never heard of it before," Roman admited.
"Well, it surprises me that none of you guys have it. I mean, I thougth everyone was like that."
"Patton, synesthetes are rare, not many people have it, making you special," Logan added.
"Cool!" Patton exclaimed, standing up from his chair
"So you hear colours?" Roman asked, coming closer to Pat.
"Kinda. If you give me a specific word, I can give it colour, or better said, my brain paints it and-"
"So what colour is my name?"
"I already told you, Roman," Patton laughed.
"Oh, true..." Roman looked around until his sight paused on the logical side, "How about Logan! How do you see Logan's name?"
"Logan... Logan is dark blue, indigo, but it also have lighter sea green strokes, as well as some bronze ones, similar to wood and resing," Patton explained.
"Interesting..." Logan mumbled.
"How about Virgil?" Roman asked, "Virgil! Virgil, come here!" Roman yelled, as he summoned the darker side
Virgil sank up, with his eyes whide open as he looked around, confused.
"What's going on?" He asked.
"Virgil is purple and dark grey, well, with dark grey and black, a bit of dark blue and yellow!" Patton exclaimed
"It fits him," Roman nodded.
"What the fuck is going on?" Virgil repeated.
"We've discovered that Patton has synesthesia, and Roman's gotten exited over it," Logan explained.
"And what's synesthesia?"
"I can see words, feel sounds and shape tastes!" Patton exclaimed again.
"Sounds fake but ok," Virgil shruged, sitting on Logan's table.
"I'm not lying!"
"Ok, ok..." Virgil smirked.
Gues where I got the inspiration to write this?
From myself!
That's right, I have synesthesia! It's not that big of a thing, but like- the descriptions of Patton are basically me, so...
I'm thinking about drawing the sides's names with their colours because it'll be fun lol.
also ik this stupid but i wanted to write it
