It hadn't been long since Roman and Logan had became friends. Well, friends wasn't exactly the right word to name their relationship. They hardly got along, and the only reason they even tried to was because of Patton and Virgil. Roman and Patton had started to date a few weeks ago, Patton and Virgil where unseparable, and Virgil was one of the few friends Logan had, so one thing was added to the other, meaning that now these two needed to learn to get along, something that was nearly imposible. Roman, the loud, gay theatre kid, who's popularity was phenomenon that not many understood, since people like him wheren't the ones to thrive in highschool, but, somehow, he managed. Then, there was Logan, a quiet astronomy nerd, who excelled in most classes but not many liked for his slight arrogant self, as well as for his know-it-all personality. Only a few where able to get past those barriers and actually meet the real Logan. Roman wasn't one of those.
The day this story is located is a friday afternoon, the week just before the end of classes before summer. The four teens had met up at Patton's house. His parents where out of town for the weeked, and Patton's older brother, Emile, was already in college, meaning he had the house all for himself. Instead of throwing a party as most of his clasmates would, he had decided to just make a small sleepover for his closest friends. Patton had to go run a few errands like shopping for groceries, which was one of the few conditions his parents had given him, so he had told his friends where the spare key was hidden, just so if the other got there first, they could get in without any problem.
Logan was the first one to get there. He was efficient, he liked to be on time, so he never stayed after school chatting with his friends, specially considering the lack of those he had. The boy picked the key from the spot that Patton had told him it'll he, just undereath the plant pot. He opened the door and left his backpack on the floor next to the couch. Once that was done, Logan took a science fiction book about space travel from his bag and started reading it.
The second to get there was Roman. Logan didn't realice until loud knocking brought him back to reality. He stood up and walked towards the door. Through the peephole he saw Roman's face, so he opened the door.
"Oh, hi Logan! I'm not surprised to see you're the first one here," Roman said, once he saw his classmate. There was no harm meant in his tone of voice, but Logan didn't interpret it correctly.
"Of course you aren't," Logan muttered under his breath, "Come on, the others haven't arived yet."
Both of them got inside the house. While Logan sat again on his spot, Roman decided to look around the living room. Finally, he picked up the remote and turned the TV on.
"What are you doing?" Logan asked, without lifting his head up from the novel.
"I'm turning the TV on to watch something as we wait, Nerdy Wolverine. Isn't it obvious?"
"Has Patton allowed you to do that?"
"I don't need his permision, Patton's my boyfriend, remember?" Roman answered, looking down at the paler one.
"Yes, of course I remember, but that doesn't give you an excuse to use his TV at your will," Logan replied.
"Look, just because you're single, it doesn't give you an excuse to be so bitter with me, alright?"
"I don't know what you're talking about," Logan said, and he was being honest. He had no interets on dating, he never had. Roman seemed to interpret this as sarcasm, but he decided to stay shut. He didn't want to get into a fight before time.
Not much time had gone by until a flash lighted up the room, soonly followed by the loud sound of thumder. Roman stood up from a jump, which made Logan smile of amusement. He didn't imagive the strong and brave Roman to be afraid of thunder. Roman didn't notice this, and he went to the window. As he thought, a storm had started outside. An itch apeared on Roman's arms, something that he was used to in these situations. He tried to ignore it by sitting back down in the couch to continue watching TV, but it didn't work. The itch wouldn't go away, so the boy started to scratch his arms.
