now, onto the story

trigger warning: suicide, blood, a bad household, self harm, angst

There were two kids standing in a bed room. The room was small, and the walls where painted white, now so dirty that they looked grey. The kids where sitting in a bunk bed, in the upper one. One of the kids was 10 or 11 years old, he had brown hair and pale skin, with a few frecles in his round face. His eyes where dark brown, and they had bags underneath them. The other kid was three or four years older, his hear was a bit lighter and wavier. His skin was also pale, but not so much, completely covered with frecles, and his eyes where a lighter shade of brown as well.

"So... How is it there?" Virgil, the younger kid asked, looking with his eyes wide open at his older brother.

"Life's alright. I mean, nothing special happens, but at least I'm save now," Patton explained, looking up at the sky, "Anything new?"

"Not really... well, dad has bough a new car, but appar from that..."

"A new car?" Patton asked, surprised, "Where did he get the money from?"

"He didn't get the money from anywere. Mom isn't happy because now we are in an even worse situation, but she can't do anything about it," Virgil answered.

"Oh, I see... I'm sorry about that Virge," Patton turned his head to look at his sibilin.

"Are you sure I can't go with you? It'll be much easyer like that,"

"No, Virgil. Me going and leaving you alone was selfish, it was wrong. I should've been stronger. So please, be strong for me and stay here. Mom and Dad don't deserve to be alone."

"But-"

"No buts Virge. Please, promise me you won't try and follow me," Patton begged, holding Virgil's hand.

"Ok, I promise," Virgil sighed.

"Thanks. Now, I should go. I don't think it'll be a good idea from Mom to find you here talking with me," Patton stood up from the bed, and Virgil followed him up

"You are right. Last time she was very mad, she thought that it was dumb to be talking with you"

"I'm sorry for that. Well, goodbye kiddo," Patton kissed Virgil's head

"Goodbye," Virgil waved, as his older brother dissapeared

"Aren't you hot with your cardigan on?" Virgil asked the next time his brother came to visit

"No... Should I?" Patton asked back, looking at his clothes

"I gues... It's summer already," Virgil explained

"Ah, ok. Devil Town is a bit colder during this time of the year, so I didn't notice," Patton took off his cardigain and tied it up around his neck, "Better like this?"

"Yes, like that is perfect," Virgil smiled, bringing him back memories from when the two brothers where still together.

This happy moment was soon inyterrupted by the noises that came from outside the room. it was the screaming and yelling from two adults, the parents of the children. They often fought, specially since Patton left. Today, it seemed as if they where in an intense argument. The loud clang of a metal object hitting the floor resonated in the house, making Virgil open his eyes in fear as he stared at the door of his bed room, hoping that they woudn't bring the argument here. His body tensed when he heard the sound of foot steps as he crawled towards the oposite wall. The voices passed close, but the door remained closed
