★Sohn Youngjae★

The boys had spent the first few hours playing video games in Sunwoo's room. Youngjae couldn't get over how many games Sunwoo had on his bookcase. He had three full rows of them.

They took a break after Youngjae's hand started cramping, by then it was about 6:30 in the evening and the sun was beginning to set.

"Well, what do you want to do now, Youngjae?" Sunwoo asked.

Youngjae checked the time on his phone and frowned.

"I actually have to go now. I promised my parents I'd be home by 7." Youngjae said sadly.

"Oh, well can I give you a ride?" Sunwoo offered.

Youngjae immediately shook his head. "No! Please, I don't want to be a bother. I can take the bus."

"Are you sure? It's really not a problem." Sunwoo added.

"I'm sure. I'll just see you at school tomorrow." Youngjae waved him off.

"Okay, well I'll walk you to the door." Sunwoo said, getting up from his bed to accompany Youngjae downstairs.

The boys went downstairs and as Youngjae swung his bag over his shoulders he smiled at Sunwoo.

"You can call me Eric, by the way." He said.

Sunwoo furrowed his eyebrows. "Your real name isn't Youngjae?"

"It is, but I like it better when my friends call me Eric." He explained.

"Oh, okay. Well, get home safely Eric." Sunwoo offered a friendly smile.

Sunwoo watched Eric disappear down the road. As he was walking back to his room the doorbell rang.

He thought it'd be Eric, maybe he'd forgotten something. But it wasn't.

"Please don't slam the door in my face." Chanhee pleaded timidly.

Sunwoo had no intention in doing so, and he felt bad that Chanhee thought he did.

"I felt really bad about what happened earlier, so I baked some cookies as an apology. I'm really sorry, Sunwoo. I should have stuck up for you, and I was a really shitty friend for not doing so." Chanhee frowned, holding out a little box of cookies.

Sunwoo looked at the box for a moment.

"What kind?" He asked first.

Chanhee smiled. "Snicker doodle."

Sunwoo closed his eyes and sighed.

Chanhee knows Sunwoo would never for the life of him turn down snicker doodle cookies.

"Fine. Come in." Sunwoo stepped aside, letting Chanhee walk in.

"Who was that guy leaving your house?" Chanhee asked.

"He's new to our school, his names Éric. He lent me a spare uniform he had on him, so I invited him over." Sunwoo answered, grabbing the box of cookies from Chanhee.

"Did I tell you I feel really bad about that?" Chanhee chuckled sheepishly.

"It's fine. I just don't understand how you can like that dickhead. If he's treating your friends like shit, it's only a matter of time before he starts treating you the same way." Sunwoo huffed.

Chanhee pouted. "He's not like that. He's really sweet when he wants to be."

Sunwoo shrugged. "I just don't want to see you get hurt, Chan. I don't trust him."

"Then just trust me. I'll be fine. I promise." Chanhee smiled softly.

Why was it that every time Chanhee cracked that damn smile, all of Sunwoo's bad feelings suddenly went away? They vanished into thin air, as if they never existed. Sunwoo didn't like that Chanhee had that kind of power over him.

"Well, if you're ever not fine, you know where to find me." Sunwoo returned the smile.

"I know." Chanhee nodded.

Chanhee moved to sit next to Sunwoo on the couch, curling into his side. He sighed happily with his chin on Sunwoo's shoulder.

"Thanks for not slamming the door in my face." Chanhee said quietly.

Sunwoo felt the little skip his heart did when he felt Chanhee's breath tickle his neck.

"I would never." Sunwoo replied, resting his head on Chanhee's.

"So we're still best friends?" Chanhee asked, and Sunwoo felt him smile against his shoulder.

"Unfortunately." Sunwoo sighed, feigning disappointed.

Chanhee snickered.

"You're an ass."

"You love me."

"I do."

Just not in the way I wish you did.

Sorry for the short chapter, I had a lot to do today and I've been busy streaming for Kingdom. Make sure you do the same!:) for our sunshine's birthday let's give them at least a place in the top 2:) but keep aiming for #1! They deserve it❤️
