Sunwoo walked off the school campus to start his route home. Which he usually took with Chanhee since they lived only a few houses down from each other. But Chanhee had more important business to attend to.
Mrs. Chen was still "apprehending" him. Even though he didn't even do anything. She wasn't exactly easy to please. Especially if your name is Choi Chanhee. The reason as to why she had it out for him was unknown.
Both Chanhee and Sunwoo were well off, Chanhee's parents worked at the city Hospital. Mrs. Choi as an anesthesiologist, Mr. Choi as a surgeon.
Sunwoo's parents both worked in real estate, they were very successful too. Duh.
So their parents weren't around much, which only gave Sunwoo and Chanhee more time to spend together. And that was great, until something changed.
They were 14 at the time, Chanhee's parents were stuck at the hospital and Sunwoo's parents were overseas in Japan on business.
They had decided to sleep at Sunwoo's house since he had the bigger room. His room had a king sized bed, a 62" tv, and a master bathroom. Chanhee's room wasn't too bad either, Sunwoo's room was just more open spaced.
And they decided to watch a movie, in which it had a lot of not so family friendly scenes. They watched it as a joke, but then Sunwoo had some thoughts. Thoughts he never should have thought. About a certain best friend sitting right next to him cringing.
From that day on Sunwoo never saw Chanhee in the same light again. He started to wonder what it would be like to be with him, to kiss him, to hold him.
It was around Chanhee's 15th birthday that Sunwoo realized that he had feelings for Chanhee. And that scared him to death, as they've been friends since they were five years old.
And Sunwoo thought these feelings would go away with time, it was just a simple crush. Those didn't last long.
But to his dismay they didn't go anywhere, if anything the grew stronger.
They were now 17 turning 18. Their senior year has barely begun, only about three months in. And this was were they really had to focus on their future.
Sunwoo had his heart set out on studying music theory and composition. Meanwhile Chanhee wanted to go to art school. Meaning their paths were soon to stray.
Sunwoo entered the code into the lockbox of the gates, making them open for him to walk into.
"Mom? Dad? I'm home." He announced.
He walked into the kitchen, finding a small sticky note and some money on the counter.
"Had to fly to Japan last minute, will be back on Friday. Moneys for groceries. Love you." Sunwoo read out loud. "So now they want me to go grocery shopping. Phenomenal."
Sunwoo went upstairs to his room, tossing his bag on his bed before snatching his towel from his closet and entering his bathroom.
After his shower he dressed comfortably and did some homework. That's when he got a call.
