★Kim Sunwoo★
"I'm about to get arrested for battery and assault." Chanhee said through his teeth, slamming down his lunch tray.
Sunwoo looked up at Chanhee, slowly capping his pen.
"Care to explain?" Sunwoo asked.
Chanhee huffed, sitting down on the bench across from Sunwoo.
"That envious bitch Sunhee copied off my test yesterday, Mrs. Chen doesn't believe it was her that copied since Mrs. Chen has been out for my ass since I enrolled in her stupid class. Now she's going to call my parents and "apprehend" me for cheating." Chanhee ranted. He put finger quotes around apprehend.
Sunwoo furrowed his eyebrows.
"Doesn't Sunhee spend more time flirting with the football team than studying?" Sunwoo said.
"That's what I said! But then she started crying and Mrs. Chen made me apologize." Chanhee rolled his eyes.
Sunwoo snickered.
Then suddenly Chanhee's phone dinged.
"Oh, I gotta go. I'm meeting Younghoon on the roof." Chanhee said, picking up his lunch.
Sunwoo tried discreetly rolling his eyes, but unfortunately for him Chanhee was very observant and attentive.
"What was that?" Chanhee asked.
"What was what?" Sunwoo tried playing it off.
"You just rolled your eyes at me. What was that for?" Chanhee sat back down.
Sunwoo shook his head in a dismissive manner.
"Nothing. Go, don't wanna keep him waiting." Sunwoo said, not looking up from his lunch.
Chanhee frowned.
"What's going on with you? Every time I mention his name you shut down. Are you mad that I'm spending time with him?"
Sunwoo sighed, stabbing his chicken with the fork.
"Just go, Chanhee. I'm not arguing with you about this. Again." Sunwoo whispered the last part under his breath.
Chanhee pursed his lips, but left anyway.
Sunwoo shoved away his lunch tray, suddenly losing his appetite.
"Hey, is this seat taken?"
Sunwoo looked up, finding an unfamiliar face standing above him. He shook his head.
"Take it." He said.
The stranger sat down.
"I'm Youngjae, Sohn Youngjae." He smiled brightly, holding out his hand for Sunwoo to shake.
Sunwoo took it out of good manners.
"Kim Sunwoo." Sunwoo said with a small smile.
"Nice to meet you. I just moved here so I don't really have many friends." Youngjae said.
"Welcome to our shitty school. I hope it treats you well." Sunwoo said, feigning enthusiasm.
This made Youngjae laugh.
"Listen I'm really sorry but I have to go. I'll see you around." Sunwoo smiled, getting up from his seat.
"Bye!" Youngjae said with glee.
Sunwoo dumped his untouched lunch in the garbage on his way out of the cafeteria.
He made his way to Mrs. Chen's classroom, hoping to straighten out the situation with Chanhee.
"Mrs. Chen? Are you busy?" Sunwoo asked, softly knocking on the door before hand.
"Sunwoo! No, come on in." Mrs. Chen smiled.
Sunwoo sat in a desk in front of Mrs. Chen's desk.
"I wanted to talk to you about Chanhee."
As soon as Sunwoo said that, he'd expression changed from a smile to a frown.
"Sure. What about him?" She asked, suddenly not looking as interested in their conversation.
"I know how you may feel about him, but that shouldn't affect how you treat him academically. He's been studying day and night for your test, he literally doesn't sleep the day before a test just preparing. Sunhee wouldn't touch a book if you threw it at her." Sunwoo said.
"I know you must believe that because he's your friend, but this school has a strict no cheating policy. I'm sorry but I don't make the rules." Mrs. Chen shrugged.
"That's the thing, Mrs. Chen. He didn't cheat, Sunhee is the one who copied Chanhee's paper. In fact give them both the same test separately and you'll see that Chanhee's answers won't change." Sunwoo suggested.
Mrs. Chen stared at Sunwoo for a second.
"Fine." She gave in. "I'll give them a retake. However I will still be having a conversation with Chanhee's parents about this."
Sunwoo sighed in relief.
"Thank you. I'm sure this will mean a lot to him." Sunwoo smiled.
Mrs. Chen smiled kindly. "You're a good friend, Mr. Kim."
Sunwoo returned the smile. He excused himself as he heard the bell ring for his next class.
He couldn't let Chanhee go down for something he didn't do. His future was too important to him for that.
And Sunhee was just a bitch so he wanted to piss her off.
