Light shines down on us as we creep to the edge of the trees, hidden in the shadows as we watch the careers. In the centre of the large opening lies a large pile of weapons and cases, most likely filled with supplies that they need to survive. On the left of the pile sits the careers, hiding from the heat of the sun under a small canopy, fashioned from a tent they more than likely found in the supplies. The tallest and most muscular of the group stands up, grabbing his spear in his hand as he yells something at the rest of the group causing them to stand up, grabbing their own weapons. One petiti boy remains sitting under the canopy as the rest of the group run off into the shelter of the forest.

"What's the plan?" whispers Katniss from beside me, her eyes remaining fixed on the petit boy in the centre whose eyes are nervously scanning the forest around him. Behind us, Pietro leans against a tree, watching the other careers as they run off into the darkness.

"We blow up their supplies." I mumble, a devilish smile creeping its way onto my face as Katniss and Pietro turn to me, their eyes wide and a frown line forming between their brows.

"And how is that going to help?" asks Pietro, the cogs in his mind working overtime to try and keep up with mine.

"They'll have nothing to eat so they'll starve." I explain, shrugging my shoulders as I shuffle further around the edge of the forest, attempting to get a better look at the pile in front of us whilst still trying to hide from the other boy.

"It's genius." echoes Katniss, following closely behind me, pulling an arrow out of her quill, placing it in her bow and raising it to her eye level. Squinting, her eyes zero in one a small bag of apples as she aims her bow at it, shuffling around to find the best spot to aim from.

"You know, I don't like this Abi." declares Pietro from behind me as we both watch Katniss causing my head to whip around as my brows furrow. Rolling his eyes, he walks across to my side, crossing his arms as he looks out at the supplies again.

"What Abi?" I ask, looking up at him as I frown, my brain now working overtime to keep up with his.

"The one who enjoys killing people." he explains, momentarily taking his eyes off the supplies in front of us to examine my confused expression. A small chuckle escapes his lips as I roll my eyes, crossing my own arms against my chest.

"I've always been that way Pietro." I insist, my voice lacking any emotion as I turn back to where Katniss is still scurrying around the bushes to find the optimum shooting position.

"You weren't when you lived in Sokovia." he argues as he nudges me gently, causing me to lose my balance and almost fall over. "Especially not around-" Before he can finish his sentence, I've grabbed a blade from my belt and sent him flying backwards against a tree, my blade at his throat.

"Don't you dare say his name after what your little team did to him." I hiss, fury taking over my body as my eyes begin to glow, my grip tightening on the blade at his throat. Every muscle in my body clenches as Pietro smirks back at me, clearly amused by my anger.

"I can't believe that after all this time you still love him." he chuckles as I remove my blade from his throat, stepping backwards as the glow leaves my eyes, the fury remaining strong though. Taking deep breaths, I attempt to push down my anger, carefully placing the blade in my hand back in its place at my waist.

"Love is a chemical defect found on the losing side." I mumble, looking down at the ground as I continue to take deep breaths, closing my eyes against the anger that threatens to bubble over me.

"Can we focus please?" demands Katniss, her eyebrows raised as both me and Pietro turn to look at her from where we are.

"Right, apologies."

"Stand back." she insists as me and Pietro step a few feet back, hiding behind a fallen tree as we patiently watch her raise her bow to her eye level.

"I still think that if he were here then you wouldn't be acting like this." whispers Pietro from beside me, his voice teasing as he smirks at me. Closing my eyes again, I take a deep breath.

"Shut up." I hiss, my jaw locked as my hand forms a fist at my side. I'm seriously going to punch him if he keeps talking. In front of us, Katniss let's go of her arrow sending it flying forwards into the apple bag, slicing it open.

"I'm right though and you know it." mumbles Pietro, his eyes fixed on the apples as they begin pouring from the bag, bouncing on the supplies as they take their time falling to the ground.

"Actually, you're wrong." I admit, turning to face him as he turns to face me at the exact same time. In front of us, the apples hit the floor causing the whole of the supplies to explode, a wave of shock bursting at us. Katniss, who was stood quite far in front of us is knocked backwards to the ground as Pietro turns to face her. "I was worse when he was around."

"Wait a minute, wasn't there more of them?" asks Pietro, his eyes fixed on where the other careers are coming back into the clearing, the tallest one marching straight for the small boy, twisting his neck until it snaps causing his limp body to fall to the ground. My eyes widen and my heart pounds in my chest as I notice that one of the careers is missing.

"Rue."
