Silence hangs in the air as there sun begins to rise above the horizon, the hours fading by as I sit at the kitchen table, my head in my hands as Stephen stares at me from the sofa, a numb expression on his face.
"Should we go out there?" Tony whispers from inside Wanda's room as he sits up straighter, bags forming under his eyes as he rubs them with the back of his hand.
"No I'm sure they're okay." Wanda mumbles from on her bed, her eyes wide open as she stares up at the ceiling, her eyes tracing the tiny cracks that flow from one side of the room to the other.
"It has gone awfully quiet though." Vision points out as he sits up, staring down at Wanda as she turns to face him, shrugging her shoulders as he lays down on his side.
"Maybe she's killed him." Peter blurts out as he chuckles to himself, everyone else in the room sitting bolt upright as they stare at him blankly. Looking up, Peter stops laughing as his eyes land on the shocked faces of the rest of the team. "What?" he shrugs as a small smile creeps onto his face again. "It's a perfectly realistic possibility."
"The spiderboy may be right." agrees Thor as he taps Peter on the shoulder, smiling down at him as he nods. Smiling to himself, Peter looks back at the rest of the team, a smug expression plastered over his face as he sits up proudly.
"It's actually Spider-Man," corrects Peter as his brows furrowed together. Looking up at Thor who just stares blankly at him, Peter shrugs his shoulders as he trails off, "but I guess it doesn't really matter."
"You know what, I can't stay here and look at you any longer." I grunt as I push my seat backwards away from the table, grab my bag and jacket before heading for the door. Jumping up from the sofa, Stephen rushes in front of me, blocking me from reaching the door as he looks down at me, his eyes narrow.
"Where are you going?" he hisses as I step to a side only for him to mirror my actions, blocking me from the door once again. Gritting my teeth and clenching my jaw, I raise my hands and push Stephen firmly against the chest as he stumbles backwards and into the table.
"Somewhere I won't rip your head off." I mumble as I walk past him and grab the keys from the small table next to the front door.
"And where exactly would that be? You can't avoid me forever." Stephen
"I can if I take all of you home and then we go our separate ways."
"If I may cut in." Loki interrupts as the door to Wanda's bedroom bursts open, the rest of the team trailing behind him as Loki marches towards me.
"No you may not."
"Stop this Abi." he demands as I pull the door open, the hinges creaking as I begin to step into the hall. Suddenly, a cold hand grasps my wrist, pulling me to a halt as I turn to find Loki behind me. "It's not you."
"Let go Loki." I grunt, my voice a growl as my heart begins to pound, my other hand forming a fist as my blood boils. A tingling sensations rises in me as my powers begin to spiral out of control, a faint glow lighting up my eyes.
"You're not seriously going to do this are you?" Loki asks as he notices my eyes, his grip on my wrist tightening as his cold skin burns mine. Grimacing against the pain, I take a deep breath as I close my eyes, giving in to the monster that's caged within me.
"We can't let you do this Abi." Tony demands as he steps further into the room, his eyes locked on mine as I notice the bags under them. Smirking to myself, I raise my hand into the air, revealing the now bright glow that surrounds it as Loki's grip remains tight.
"You won't be able to stop me." I chuckle, my tone sinister as I send a small blast towards Loki. Completely taken aback, Loki flies backwards into the wall only for Stephen to form some sort of shield that softens his landing.
