My feet collide with cool concrete as I land firmly on the ground, my eyes scanning the room in front of me as Stephen lands on his back behind me. Groaning, he pulls himself up from the floor as voices come from the center of the room. I quickly run across to a stack of boxes, peeking over them to see two blurred figures behind a sheet of plastic. Sighing in frustration, I sit back down, my head hitting the boxes as I rub my temble with my index finger and thumb, soothing the headache that stings the back of my skull.
"Stay here." I hiss as I open my eyes again, turning to Stephen as he bobs down next to me, his body literally inches from mine as I frown, my eyebrows drawing together as I stare blankly at him. His eyes meet mine as he pauses for a moment, his shoulders shrugging as he stares blankly back at me. As I raise my hand and gesture to the space between us, he nods, shuffling away as he smiles weakly.
"Right here?" Stephen asks as he frowns, pointing to the boxes before glancing over the top of the boxes, his head clearly visible to whoever is on the other side of that plastic sheet. Rolling my eyes, I grab his sleeve as I pull him back down behind the boxes. As he falls onto his back, he looks up at me, his eyes full of both confusion and shock. " In the corner of the room?"
"Yes. Right here. Where you won't get in my way." I hiss as I offer him my hand, pulling him up off the floor as he takes it. After checking he's steady, I let go of him before creeping around the boxes, carefully lifting the plastic sheet enough for me to creep under it. When I'm on the other side, I quickly scan the room as my eyes land on a car just a few feet from the pair of males. My head pops up over the car, my eyes looking through the windows as my gaze locks onto the entrance to the room.
"Why are we here? And hiding?" Stephen asks as his head pops up next to me, my hands raising defensively as I fall backwards, landing on top of one of my blades that lie in the floor as my leg slices open. I grimace in pain as I hug my leg to my chest, blowing on the cut as blood begins to emerge above my skin.
"I thought I told you to wait over there." I grunt as I tear some fabric from my sleeve with my teeth, almost dropping it as I attempt to wrap it around my thigh. Noticing the cut, Stephen garbs my leg as I flinch, his grasp slackening slightly as he looks me in the eyes. He carefully removed the fabric from my teeth as he wipes the cut, cleaning away the dirt that lies around it as I grimace in pain.
"I was bored." he mumbles as he daps the wound causing me to hiss in pain, my eyes narrowing as he looks up at me through his eyelashes. "Sorry." he whispers before pulling his shirt off to reveal his abs underneath as I look away, a blush emerging on my cheeks. He tears the shirt into strips as he begins dressing the cut on my leg, gently pushing my shorts up as not to get blood on them. As his fingers brush against my skin, flurries of butterflies begin to swarm in my body, tiny shivers of pleasure dancing on my skin.
"We're waiting for my friend to arrive." I explain as I find my eyes trailing their way down Stephen chest, following each muscle that is defined on his muscular build. Noticing my eyes on him, Stephen smirks to himself before tightening the bandage. My eyes trace their way back up to Stephens face as I notice the small cut on his face, just above his cheekbone.
"Ah right." Stephen mumbles as he sits up straighter, his eyes meeting mine as I reach towards his cheek, wiping away the blood from the cut with my thumb. My finger lingers in his cheek as I take a deep breath, my heart skipping a beat as Stephen smiles softly at me. A clatter comes from the other side of the car as I look away from Stephen, my hand dropping to my side. "How do you know they're coming?"
"I just do okay now shut up." I hiss as I look back up over the car and through the window to see the two figures again. Standing just behind me, Stephen places his hands either side of my head as he peeks through the window, his breath tickling the back of my neck as my chest tightens.
