Y/n woke up in a cell, much better than the one she was used to in HYDRA's base, but still was cold and dark. After being brought inside the compound the night before, no one berated her with questions, instead, Captain America and Wanda brought her down to the basement where some cells were and locked her in spending no time to ask her anything.
Within five minutes of waking up, y/n heard a knock at the door of the cell which slid open revealing Wanda Maximoff holding a tray of food with the Winter Soldier standing behind her. Y/n locked eyes with Wanda as Wanda approached her and left the tray in front of her. Pancakes, eggs, toast, and a water bottle. Y/n made a subtle nod with her head and Wanda did it back to her with a slight smile. Then, Wanda turned around to head back out.
Right when Wanda turned, y/n jumped up and pushed Wanda into the wall, and hit her head. Bucky grabbed y/n 's throat with his metal arm and slammed her into the ground knocking her unconscious.
Bucky ran to Wanda, who was clutching the back of her head and helped her up.
"Are you okay? I told you I should've gone with the tray while you stayed by the door." Bucky said with a concerned look on his face.
"Ugh I know, I just figured what could she do, she has nowhere to go so maybe she wouldn't do anything." Wanda looked over to y/n who had blood trickling around her head.
"Bucky why did you hit her head so hard?! She's bleeding!" Wanda ran to y/n and gently lifted her head and saw a small gash that was bleeding pretty heavily.
"Shit. I just wanted to knock her out. I didn't mean to make her bleed." Bucky slapped his forehead before picking y/n up and carrying her to the med bay while Wanda followed yelling Sokovian curses at him.
Y/n woke up in her cell again with a sharp pain radiating in her head. She flinched when she saw Wanda and Natasha sitting in front of the cell door while y/n was at the back wall, except this time her neck was chained to the wall only allowing her room to walk to about the middle of her cell. The food from earlier was exchanged with a sandwich and apple.
"Good afternoon. You were out cold for a while there." Natasha smirked. "I believe you have an apology to make." Natasha stared down y/n and nudged her head towards Wanda trying to communicate to y/n.
Y/n rolled her eyes and sat up to pick up the sandwich in front of her. She took a big bite while staring at both Wanda and Natasha.
"So you're just not gonna talk, huh. Well, I guess we can bring Bucky back in here to knock some sense into you."
Y/n dropped her sandwich back onto her tray. Fear struck her face as she brought her knees up to her chest and looked down and rocked back and forth. Her breathing became heavy, not looking up.
Nat and Wanda looked at each other. Wanda raised her eyebrow judging Nat's language that caused y/n into a state of panic. Wanda stood up to go comfort y/n, but Nat grabbed her hand.
"What the hell do you think you're doing. She literally attacked you earlier and now you're gonna go help her?" Nat whisper shouted at Wanda trying to reason with her.
"She is obviously having a panic attack right now. Do you have no decency? If I get thrown into a wall again then oh well, at least I knew I wasn't being cold-hearted." Wanda retorted and pulled her hand away and walked towards y/n.
She sat down next to her and placed her hand on y/n 's back and the other hand on her shoulder.
"You need to breathe. We're not going to hurt you. I won't hurt you. I'm here to help you. We can help you, we just need to build trust and understand you. Breathe with me." Wanda rubbed y/n's back and felt y/n 's breathing go from hitches to deep breaths.
Nat watched as y/n lifted her head, her eyes wet from the tears. Wanda picked up the half-eaten sandwich and handed it to y/n, but she didn't take it.
"You need to eat. You didn't get the chance to eat this morning, so you need to eat this." Wanda took y/n 's hand and placed the sandwich in it. Y/n slowly took a bite out of it and Wanda grinned.
"See, there you go! We're off to a great start." Wanda cheered as Nat rolled her eyes.
