Revelation: Wanda Maximoff x Reader

Chapter 17

*Avengers Compound*

Wanda stormed out of the front of the compound and saw Nat and Vision standing together in the distance by the lake. Vision had his arms crossed across his chest while Nat had put her hand on his shoulder. Wanda slowly made her way towards where they were standing unsure of what to say to him.

She never really had romantic feelings for him, but she didn't mind the comfort he would provide her. He was loving, courteous, and had a big heart for someone who wasn't human. Maybe she just needed someone to love. But she doesn't even love herself so how can she love someone else? She was now right behind the two, she pulled at her sleeves. Nat turned around and saw Wanda looking down at the ground, "I'm gonna leave the two of you alone to talk." She bumped Vision's elbow and gave him a smile before going back inside of the compound.

Wanda looked up and stared into Vision's eyes, he was entranced by the green in her eyes. "Wanda, I didn't want you to find out this way. I wanted it to take time, take it slow, so I could truly win your heart. But now that you know I can't really do anything about that. I just-" before he could continue Wanda had the impulse to kiss him. The urge kicked in and she jumped up and locked her lips with his. Vision was shocked by the action, but he of course enjoyed it. Wanda pulled away first, she immediately looked away.

What had she done? She turned back at looked up at Vision to see him smiling widely, and she couldn't help but smile back. "Let's take it slow. I'm not sure where my heart lies, but I'm open to seeing where we go," Wanda suggested. Vision held Wanda's hands, "and I am perfectly okay with that."

The lake was glistening due to the sun hitting it in just the right way and a cherry blossom tree stood over them and the wind causing it to drop petals. Nat watched it all unfold from the doorway to the compound and smiled. 

"Why don't we go back inside? I have a surprise for you tonight, so I hope you aren't too full from lunch," Vision said and held Wanda's hand as they walked back towards the facility. "I barely even ate, so I think I'll be pretty hungry," Wanda replied wondering what Vision could possibly be thinking of making. 

*A few hours later*

Vision was now letting the chicken simmer in the pan, but he was unsure of the taste since he could not try it himself. He followed the recipe exactly, so it had to be fine. Wanda was in her room trying to figure out what to watch since she was now all caught up with Modern Family. She then saw Grey's Anatomy pop up and her mind thought of when y/n came into her room and they talked about Lexie dying which made y/n upset. She laughed to herself at the thought and decided to resume where she had last left off. 

She was on the episode where everyone had weed cookies in season 14 and she was cracking up the entire time, but it was cut short when Bucky knocked on the door and entered her room. "We have a mission to go to New Mexico, we have to go ASAP, Fury's orders."

Wanda shot up out of her bed and got ready, it had to be Thor. Was he in trouble? Did it have to do with y/n? Vision seemed to be in a bad mood once they were all entering the quinjet. "What's the matter?" Wanda asked him. "I was almost done with your surprise," he huffed and folded his arms in annoyance. Wanda laughed and assured him that it was fine and he can give it to her once they got back. 

Tony, Bruce, Bucky, Sam, Steve, Vision, Nat, and Wanda all sat on the jet in silence. Wanda couldn't contain herself at the thought that maybe y/n was there. Fury called Steve telling him about the situation. "No way, are you sure? I'm sure Maximoff can take him, she's pretty powerful. No, yeah. Okay. Thanks." Steve hung up and looked towards the team with worry.

"He thinks it's Loki. He wants us to kill him because locking him up risks his escape," Steve said without any kind of connotation towards how he feels about the order. "Kill him? We never try to kill people," Nat protested. "Well he kinda brought an alien army to Earth which killed a ton of innocent people, so I for one don't care. If it's to keep the world safe then we do it," Tony added. Steve looked towards Wanda with sad eyes. She knew what he was trying to say.

"No. I don't kill people. People already fear me, heck I fear myself. I don't want to be the witch everyone makes me out to be," she darted her eyes at Tony before looking out the window to avoid everyone's staring eyes. "Let's just assess the situation and we'll take it one step at a time," Bruce tried to mediate. "If need be, Bruce can throw him around again like he did last time," Tony laughed.

Within 30 minutes, the team landed in Puente Antiguo, New Mexico near where the former SHIELD base was established to experiment on Mjolnir and figure out the sudden wormhole back when Thor first arrived on Earth. The base was now abandoned since Thor was now an Avenger and Mjolnir was back in Thor's hands, it was now the home for wild animals and some homeless people. 

Everyone stepped out of the jet and Steve laid out the plans. Everyone was going to split up into groups of three and two to look for Loki: Natasha, Bruce, and Tony; Steve, Bucky, and Sam; and Wanda and Vision. Their comms were on to keep everyone informed in case anyone had any leads or came to a dead end.

Wanda and Vision went over to the diner where y/n and the Asgardians ate that morning. Vision remained outside to avoid drawing attention while Wanda went in to ask questions. "Hi, did you happen to see a man with green eyes and long black hair over the last few days?" Wanda asked trying to conceal her Sokovian accent, which she was pretty decent at thanks to Nat helping her and watching American sitcoms all of the time. 

The young waitress was deep in thought until she remembered the orange juice drinking contest in which Loki was doing the countdown. "Yes, I did. There were also a few other people as well. Two girls and a really buff guy with dreamy blue eyes, golden hair, and a beard. He was so hot, my god." The waitress gushed as she reminisced. Wanda was alarmed hearing her say two girls. One of them could possibly be y/n and also sounded like Thor was with her too. She sighed a breath of relief knowing she was safe, but what was Loki doing? She then remembered the dream she had of Loki at the HYDRA base ordering for y/n's memory wipe, she gasped which caught the attention of the waitress. How could she have forgotten that? Y/n had to be in danger if he was with her.

"Oh, is the buff guy your boyfriend? I'm sorry, I didn't mean to say all that. You got really lucky there girl," she smirked. "No he's not, but do you know where they went?" Wanda's accent faintly came back. "I think they're staying at the motel a few streets over, not that I was stalking or anything..." The girl's eyes shifted in embarrassment. 

Wanda quickly ran out of the diner and headed towards the motel catching Vision off-guard. "Wanda slow down! Did you get a lead?" He chased after her. Wanda turned on her comms, "they're at the motel by the diner." "They? What do you mean they?" Steve questioned. "Thor is definitely with them and there are two girls as well, hurry up," Wanda answered, she used her powers to fly over as she knew it would be faster. "Wanda, wait for backup, don't go alone," Tony advised with a tang of worry in his tone.

Wanda, however, didn't listen. Vision was right behind her as they landed in front of the motel. "Wanda, let's wait for everyone else." Wanda closed her eyes, she could feel y/n near her. She was able to sense what room she was in and she floated up, her red energy surrounding her. Out of the blue, Tony flew down in his Iron Man suit and tackled her to the ground. "Are you trying to compromise our mission right now, Witchy? Loki probably has a game plan and you're just gonna give us up like that?" He said through his gritted teeth as Wanda squirmed in his grip with her back to the ground. Her mind, which was once filled with pain, was now completely light. All of the pain drifted out. She used her powers to shove try and get him off of her, but he held her down, which was worrying Vision that he was hurting her. 

The group four inside of the motel room heard the boom outside and they all looked at one another. Thor peaked outside of the curtain to see Tony hovering over Wanda on the ground and Vision standing right next to them. "The Avengers are here, we need to leave," Thor turned around to see y/n holding her head in her hands as she sat on the couch. Her head was in agony, all of her pain in trauma hitting her like a truck out of nowhere. Valkyrie crouched beside her, "what's wrong? Are you 'dehydrated' again?"

"No, I just- my head hurts," y/n groaned. Loki paced back and forth, he was trying to figure out what to do. "We have to be outside in order to call Heimdall, but if they're out there then we're going to have to fight them," Loki thought out loud. "Then we will have a fight," Thor said grimly as he picked up Mjolnir and his clothes changing into his Thor outfit.
