Y/n stood completely still. She was flabbergasted and didn't know what to believe. How does she know he's not lying? Her mind replayed her memories as she remained standing, but she had no recollection of Asgard or her parents mentioning it. She's only heard of Asgard from learning about Thor and Loki on the news, but other than that, she knew nothing of the planet. Loki noticed y/n's astonished face and slowly walked up to her, but y/n jumped back to the present and she took a step back. "I need more information," y/n replied sternly, but deep down she was afraid and didn't want to show it to Loki.
Loki presented a mischievous smile, "I would love to, my dear, but we need to leave this town before the Avengers come here." Y/n remembered the note and pulled it out of her pocket to reread it. "Was this you?" Loki nodded, he sat in the corner of the bar watching the commotion unfold, and slipped the note into her backpack as everyone rushed out of the bar. "Where would we go?" y/n furrowed her eyebrows. She didn't want the Avengers to find her, but she was still wary about Loki, however, she felt safer with him for some odd reason. There was some kind of radiance that made her drawn to him. "Take my hand and I'll show you," Loki put forth his hand for y/n to hold. She hesitated, but ended up siling towards the tall man and held his hand. As she got closer, a strange feeling spread throughout her, and suddenly the surroundings changed.
It was extremely hot, desert-like, and the sun was setting. The two stood, hand in hand, outside of a rundown motel. "Where are we?" y/n was very sure this was not Asgard. "New Mexico, I have some friends I would like you to meet." Loki tugged y/n's hand bringing her to a room on the left. "Wait, I want you to tell me everything first." "I don't have all of the information, but there is someone inside who does." Loki knocked on the door while y/n nervously bit her nails waiting to see who was inside.
*Avengers POV*
The team grew frustrated in their search to find y/n. It had now been 2 hours since they first began their search and they still could not find anyone. Wanda and Nat ended their search and decided to go into a bar in the town they were in for a drink to relax their minds. Wanda realized the atmosphere of the bar felt tense and very on edge. She knew something went down or there was something wrong. She called for the bartender by waving her hand. "Hey, did anything weird happen tonight?" "Boy did something happen alright. This crazy chick nearly choked this one guy to death with just one arm because he was cat-calling some other girl. Crazy fucking shit. The girl eventually let him go and left, but everyone in the bar nearly peed their pants." Nat and Wanda shared a mutual understanding when they turned their heads toward each other, they knew it was y/n. "Where did she go?" Nat quickly asked as she and Wanda downed their drinks. "It looked like she was walking towards the park." The two women dashed out of the bar and ran to the park.
There was no one there. They split up to cover more ground, but there was no one around. "We had a lead on y/n. She attacked a perv at a bar and the bartender said she headed towards the park, but she's not here anymore. We have no idea where she is." Nat informed everyone over comms. Wanda now felt guilt all throughout her body making her stomach churn. It felt y/n was almost a part of her with her memories playing in her head constantly which were all out of order. She never saw people's memories chronologically, but how significant of memory it is to them. Wanda's nightmares went from imagining Pietro or her parents' deaths to y/n's torture. Now she failed her, something else to add to a nightmare.
Nat saw Wanda staring off into the lake with the moonlight shining down on it. Nat took Wanda's hand and pulled her into a tight embrace. "We will find her, don't blame yourself," she whispered into Wanda's ear. "Come back to the compound," Tony ordered. "We can continue searching tomorrow."
Wanda and Nat went back to their car and began the 20-minute drive back to the base. Wanda stared out of the window looking at the forested areas as Nat drove. I've only known this girl for a week and I'm already this attached? God, Wanda. Once we find her I'm going to distance myself from her because I can't stand losing another person I love. Maybe her being gone isn't so bad for me. No, I shouldn't think that she could be hurt again. "Gahhh!" Wanda held her face in her hands. "What's wrong with you?" Nat gave a smirk. "I don't want to get attached to her. I'm relieved she's not here but at the same time I want her to be safe, and out there isn't safe for her." Wanda felt so helpless due to her conflicting thoughts. "Let's just take this one step at a time. When we find her, let's just make sure she's safe and provide her with a home and such. If she needs more help than any of us can provide, then we will come up with something. Tony said he called Bruce and that he'd come in a few days, so he can evaluate her and we will come up with something. Don't worry." Nat's reassurance gave Wanda a bit of solace.
The two girls were the last ones to arrive. The guys waited for them in the living room, but Wanda knew something was off just by the looks on their faces. "I think I know what you're gonna say, and I'm going against it," Wanda said with a stern voice glaring her eyes mainly at Steve. "Wanda, she wanted to leave. Let's just let her go and if she stirs trouble then we will do something about it," Steve's tone was serious but also relaxed. "I swear to god, you guys make me want to go back to Sokovia. Oh wait, you destroyed it." Wanda stormed off to her room. Steve knew this would happen, but the rest of the guys already agreed and made him tell Wanda. Nat shook her head at them before walking off as well.
Wanda took a cold shower to try and relieve some of her anger and guilt, but it didn't work. The feeling hovered over her head like a raincloud that was drizzling the feelings constantly and she couldn't seem to shake it. When she finally got into her bed, she couldn't fall asleep. Her body knew she was exhausted, but her mind was wide awake. At some point, she was able to finally fall asleep, but she was met with one of y/n's memories. She could tell it was a very early memory because it looked like y/n was getting carried everywhere. The memory was not a nightmare, thankfully, but Wanda was unsure of where this was located. It didn't seem like any place on earth, but Wanda got her answer soon enough when she saw Thor along with what looked to be his family smiling at her, but they were smiling at baby y/n.
