S1 Chapter 5: 57th Expedition

The scouts continued on their way to exit the old town and suddenly Eren spoke up.

"Y/N-san, do you think, Mikasa and my comrades will be fine?" Eren asked

"Yeah. You're all strong." Y/N said

"Listen, brat." Oluo called Eren

Eren looked behind him

"During an expedition, you need to avoid as much as Titans as possible-" Oluo bit his tongue again

"Annoying." Y/N said

After a few seconds, they finally exited their way from the old town.

"Assume the long distance scouting formation!" Erwin shouted

The soldiers started spreading through the field as they continue moving forward, but Levi Squad still remained together.

Y/N saw a green smoke signal and it seems that Levi and the others noticed it too.

"Smoke round. Green. Y/N, you fire it." Levi said

"Roger!" Y/N said and he fired a green smoke signal

"Reporting!" A soldier suddenly arrived from beside them

"Message to pass along! Right flank recon has been destroyed! Our recon system is currently inoperative! Pass this on, to the left!" The soldier said and he went back

"Did you hear that, Petra? Go." Levi said

"Yes!" Petra replied and she headed towards the left

Y/N noticed a nervous look on Eren's face.

"Worrying about Armin, Eren?" Y/N asked

"Yes, Y/N-san." Eren said

"He'll be fine. He's somewhere near the center." Y/N said

Suddenly, they noticed a black smoke signal.

"Abnormals?!" Eren said

"Lilith, you fire it." Levi said

"Roger!" Lilith said and she fired a black smoke signal

"What a mess. We let it penetrate deep into our formation." Levi said

The center line entered the forest and of course, Levi Squad entered too.

"Captain... Captain Levi!" Eren called him

"What?" Levi asked him

"We're in the middle of the woods! If the centers enter alone, we won't know if Titans are approaching! It seems that something is approaching from the right! How are we supposed to dodge the Titans and protect the carts?" Eren asked

"Don't go on about the obvious. We can't do that anymore, of course." Levi said

"Th-Then why?" Eren asked

"Look around, Eren... At all these big ass trees. It's the perfect environment for ODM Gear. And try to use that tiny brain of yours. If you don't want to die, think." Levi said

"Sir!" Eren replied

"I see it now. I can't keep up with them because I'm still new. He won't just tell me the answer. I have to figure it out myself. I'm sure that's how they learned to fight." Eren said in his thoughts

Eren looked at Y/N and he saw a nervous look on his face.

"Huh?" Eren was confused

"What the hell? Seriously? Damn it all... What the fuck is going on here?" Eren heard Oluo say in a low voice
