S3P2 Chapter 23: Battle of Shiganshina District, III

The barrel opens and Bertholdt came out of it, but no Lilith.

"Reiner!" Bertholdt shouted

Reiner used his maneuvering gear and landed on Bertholdt.

"Great! He checked on Reiner first. Keep getting far from him!" Y/N shouted

The Scouts reached the perfect distance away from Reiner and Bertholdt. They stared at the Armored Titan, waiting for Bertholdt to transform.

"In any case, our mission objectives just came came falling into our laps. You could even call this lucky." Hange said

"Target approaching from the left! It's Bertholdt!" Moblit shouted

"Our plan is as follows! Levi Squad protects Eren under Y/N's command! All others work together to take down two targets!" Hange said

"Roger!" They said and Hange Squad approached Bertholdt

Armin followed after them

"H-Hey! Armin!" Y/N called Armin, but he didn't listen

"Don't tell me he wants to have a short talk with an enemy?" Y/N said

Y/N and the others looked at Armin and Bertholdt talk to each other on different towers.

"Bertholdt! Let's talk this over!" Armin shouted

"If I agreed to talk, would you all agree to die?!" Bertholdt shouted, shocking Armin

"We only want two simple things! We want Eren and the demise of humanity inside the Walls! That's the harsh truth of reality, Armin! It's all been decided already!" Bertholdt shouted

"Wha-? Wh-Whobdecided all that?!" Armin asked

"I did..." Bertholdt said

"Huh? What was that?!" Armin asked

"I decided it! Your lives are coming to an end right here!" Bertholdt shouted

"That's very unfortunate! I was hoping, I wouldn't have to listen to Annie's screams anymore! The only ones who can save Annie from those savages in the Military Police, is you and no one else! At this rate, she'll end up as fodder to pigs!" Armin shouted

"Fine by me!" Bertholdt shouted

Mikasa went to Armin and Y/N also tried to stop her, but like Armin, she ignored him.

"Let 'em feed her to the pigs! If they really have her, that is!" Bertholdt shouted and takes out his blade before he went to Armin

Armin takes out his blade, getting ready to fight Bertholdt.

"What's the rush, Armin? Aren't we going to talk?" Bertholdt asked

Bertholdt and Armin puts on their fighting stances, facing each other.

"Did you think that if you'd talk about Annie, I'd lose my cool again? That since I'm a meek and timid Bertholdt, you could fool me into letting my guard down?" Bertholdt asked

Eren was going to follow after the two, but Y/N stopped him.

"Stop, Eren. Don't follow after them." Y/N said

"I know what you're doing. You're just buying time. Surrounding me with soldiers and distracting me with this ruse while the others finish off Reiner! I can tell. You're standing there, shaking so much, you can't do a damn thing." Bertholdt said

"If you knew that much, why did you even come to talk?" Armin asked

"I wanted to know. To know if whether I faced you guys, I'd start whining and beg for forgiveness again, but seems like I'm fine now. Yeah. You are precious comrades to me, but I intend to kill you all." Bertholdt said
