Math. Is it really that necessary? I mean if you want to be a math teacher yes, but no one uses it. "Alright class as you can see we have a new student joining us. Julia would you like to introduce yourself." "No not really." "Oh come just a." "Little introduction. You don't want me to introduce myself you want me to tell the class that I have leukemia. Is that what you wanted?" "Okay young lady I didn't need the attitude." "I didn't have an attitude." "Okay lower your voice, I'm going to start the lesson now."
"Lower my voice. He really told me to lower my voice in front of everyone. Like I was practically whispering." "It's okay, now we can go to study hall and just chill. Oh and the whole groups in our study, we all sit together. But be careful cause Gigi and her followers are in there too." "Great." We walked to the library where study hall is. "Hey guys." "Oh Julia your seats right there by Sawyer, like she requested." "Hi I'm Gigi." "Yeah I know who you are." "Sawyer." "Gigi." "So leukemia, tell me more." "What?" "Ya know if your not faking then you know a lot about it. We had someone who faked cancer a few years ago, and we wouldn't want that again." Sebastian walked over to the group. "That person was you Gigi." "Oh Sebastian your so funny. Now Julia are you faking?" She got really close to my face. "Alright that's enough Gigi, go away." "What Seb I can't talk to your new friend?" "She's not my friend, she's just in my friend group. And no I'm not gonna let yet another person be ruined by your bitchiness." "Alright then see you around."
"Hey." I grab Sebs arm. "Thanks for that, but I could have handled it." "I didn't do that for you." He pulled his arm away. "I did it cause I hate her." "Hey Seb you going to the art room today?" "Yeah I have this idea for a painting that I really need to start before I forget it." "Oh you paint?" He looks at me then looks away. "Yeah." He walked away. Study hall and science went slow, but then it was lunch time. "This food is like practically fast food." "Yep it's amazing." "Hey guys mind if I steal Julia for a sec, I have a question about science." "Um yeah go ahead." I stood up and walked out to the hall after him. "If your wondering what we did in science we went over the periodic table, five times." "Follow me." He grabbed my hand. "You know you said follow me but it doesn't seem like your giving me a choice.
He led me down a dark hallway. "So this is when I die." "What? No. This hallway has been abandoned for years. So I come down here to kinda just think. I know you have a lot on your mind with leukemia and moving all the way across the country. I figured you could use a place like this." "Thanks." "Thanks? That's all you have to say?" "This morning you told me I was cool but in study hall you said in front of the whole group that we weren't friends." "That was just to get Gigi to go away. I thought it was the right thing to say." "You know what, I have six people in the lunch room that actually like me, but instead I'm here with you. So I'm gonna go sit with people who actually like me." I walk away from him.
"God Sebastian what are you doing wrong? You showed her your special place that no one else knows about. You told a girl that you just met about your hide out. What is wrong with you? Do you like her? No of course you don't like her, you just met her. You're crazy, like crazier than Abby. Plus you're talking to yourself. All of your friends like her and you have to like her. But you don't like her like her, you just think shes cool. Right, now I can stop talking to myself."
Finally the day had ended and I could go home. "Mom I'm home." "Oh Peach how was your first day of school?" "Um, uneventful." "Did you make any friends?" "Nope." "Don't lie to me." "Fine I made friends." "Friends? Plural?" "Yes Mom I'm in a group of people who are my friends, plural." "This is great, yep just great." I go up to my room and flop down on my bed. That was until my phone started ringing. "Unknown number?" I answer the phone. "Hello? "Hey it's Sebastian." "Are you stalking me?" "No I got your number from Sawyer." "What do you want?" "I need your help with something. Meet me at the alley way off fifth street." "I'm not gonna meet some random guy I just met on a random alley way. That screams horror movie." "Okay then, I'll pick you up at your house." "No don't do that." "I'll see you in a bit." "Sebastian and he hung up."
"Hey peach, there's a boy at the door for you." I looked up. "Oh no." I ran down the started as fast as I could. "Mom do not answer the door!" "Too late." "Mom this is my, person in my friend group Sebastian." "I'm her friend." "Yeah we'll see about that." "Well Sebastian make sure she's home by ten." "I will." We started walking out the door. "Oh and don't do anything I would do." He turned around. "Don't you mean wouldn't do?" I turned him back around. "No, she means would."
"So where are we going?" "We're not going anywhere, cause we're here." "Weird blank wall in weird alley way?" "The town wants me to paint a mural to and I quote "bring some color to this town." All of our friends were busy and I figured you weren't." "Thanks?" "What I meant is you just moved to town and yeah I'm gonna shut up now." "I can't paint, so unless you want this to suck I'm gonna go home." "Nope." He grabbed my arm and pulled me back. "You're going to help me whether you like it or not." "Is that a threat?" "It doesn't have to be." "Fine, I'll help with your stupid mural."
The mural was coming along, decently. That was until I felt a splash of cold wet paint go across my back. "Why would you do that?" "You needed some color." "Says the one wearing all black." I pick up the paint brush with pink paint on it. Paint goes flying through the air hitting him in the face. "Wow, paint in the eyes hurts." "Oops, here." I walk up and wipe the paint off his eyes. I look into his blue eyes for a sec, but then he looks away. "You better get home. It's already 9:50 and it's a long walk." "Yeah, whatever." I walk away into the darkness.
Men. Like my mom always said. "Without us they don't exists." Sometimes I think them not existing would be a good thing. "Hey Peach ya have fun?" "No not really and I have paint in places someone should never have paint in." "Alright then." "Hey Willa, why is our daughter covered in paint?" "Well Joe, looks like our daughter has discovered boys." "I knew this would happen, but I just hope she knows that it's gonna be different for her." "Damn it Joe, our daughter is no different then any other girl." "That's not what I meant." "No that's exactly what you meant. She will have to learn to lose and love like any other girl. I'm done for the night, I'll be in bed if you need me."
My parents are not the definition of the perfect couple. But when it comes to love they aren't much help there either. If you want love advice you might as well rely on magazine articles not my parents. Sometimes I think my dad looks at me like I'm some kind of alien. He looks at me like everyone else does. My mom on the other hand looks at me like I'm every other normal teenage girl. So if I had to choose between them, do I choose the man who thinks I'm an alien and pity's me, or the women who cares about no one but herself but also has no pity for her sick daughter cause she knows what her sick daughter wants? Which is to be normal.
