Say what now? "Oh my god girl. You could win Queen." "I'm running against some of the prettiest girls in school." Gigi walks up to us. "Doesn't matter, if she wins it will be pity votes." "And if you win it would be rigged." She walks away. The dance is in a week, and I have no dress. So Sawyer and I are going dress shopping. "Sawyer I'll drive to the dress shop after school." "As long as we actually make it to the dress shop." As we were walking to lunch I saw Blake at the corner of my eye. "Blake?" I follow him into the boys locker room. I walk in and it smells like lost hope and sweaty insecure baby's who think that they're men. "Blake!" I turn the corner only to see the unmentionable. "What the hell are you doing In here?" "Ah. Please cover up." "You walked in here." I wasn't expecting this. I just wanted to see if you were okay. But seems as if you are fine, completely fine." "Is that all?" "Yep." "Okay, goodbye." That was a part of Blake that I would have never wished to see.
To be honest I've never looked at myself as a princess, and especially a queen. After school we went to the dress shop. "Wow. I feel like I'm drowning in fabric." "Come on let's go try some on." We ran over and tried on dresses till we couldn't zip anymore. Eventually I tired on one finally dress. A bright royal blue, sparkly dress. It was perfect. "Wow. You look like a goddess." I look down at the price tag. "Wow." "Oh don't look at that." She pulls the price tag out of my hand. "Four hundred dollars! For a dress that I will wear once, and never even look at it again." I go to unzip it. I run into the dressing room. I couldn't unzip the dress. I started crying. Why? I have no idea why. Eventually I unzipped it and went home. When I got home Seb called me. I wipe my tears on my comforter. "Hey." "You're crying?" "What no." "Do I need to drive to your house?" "Fine. I found this dress. It's amazing and it's everything I've ever wanted but it's four hundred dollars. It's not like we don't have money, but I can't just go up to my mom and ask for a four hundred dollar dress." "What does it look like?" "I'll send you a pic." I send him a picture of me in the dress. "Wow. You look amazing." "Yeah." "Maybe the money will come around." "I have a week." "What dress store was it at?" "The one on 5th street." "Okay. Um hey I gotta go." "Okay, bye."
Ugh. It seems like the closer I get to happiness the universe just yanks it away from me. I hear the door bell ring. I open the door to see a dress hanging from our swing on our porch. "What the hell!" I grab the dress and take it inside. I unzip the bag to see my dress. The dress I had said I couldn't afford. There's a card in the bag as well. I pick it up and read it. "Till death so us part, right?" I should've known. "Sebastian James, you've done it again." I call him but he doesn't pick up the phone, someone else does. "Hello, Sebs phone." "Um who is this?" "Oh hi Julia, it's Gigi." "What are you doing at Sebs?" "You sure you want to know? It's a bit PG thirteen." I hang up. My eyes start to water. My face gets hot and the lump in my throat got bigger. My phone started ringing. "Hello." "Hey you called." "Yeah it was a mistake." "Really cause it seemed." "No, it was all a mistake. Listen I get it, your friends make fun of you for being a virgin. But Gigi." "Jules I can explain. It just happened." "Yeah. I understand. Bang the first girl that shows up at your front door. Sounds about right." I hang up and throw my phone at the wall. I jump on my bed and scream into my pillow.
The next day at school, I ignored everyone. Sawyer walked up to me before third period. "Hey girl." "Hey. Uh sorry can't talk." "Wow, someone's eager to get to Biology." "Yep can't wait. Bye." "Um okay." I speed off to Biology before anyone could see me. But lunch is when everything fell to shit. "Hey Jules come on." I see Sawyer, I hear Sawyer. But Seb was staring right at me. His heartless, cold blooded, black, soulless eyes. He was just there. I turn and walk the opposite way. "What's her deal?" "That would be my doing." "Seb, I swear on your little sorry ass what did you do?" "Gigi and I, did It." "Bro you finally lost your v-card?" "Ian I will dump you right here right now." "Sorry dude, you're on your own." "Seb. Why would you do that?" "I don't know. After I bought the dress for her." "You bought the dress for her!" "Oh yeah." "Then you went and slept with Gigi?" "She was upset. Crying cause she missed Sasha. We were vulnerable. And it just happened. It was an accident." "No an accident is hitting an animal with your car. This was a full blown fuck up."
