Chapter 30 - Like Mother, Like Daughter

Sarah's POV

I rolled over in bed. I pushed my eyes half open.

"Draco, Draco!" I fully pushed them open.

My mind was ticking oven the events of the past few hours.

I was an orphan. No one wanted me.

I was angry. I wanted to kill Bellatrix Lestrange.

I hated the Lestranges. I wanted to change my name.

I jumped off a cliff.

I sat up. Draco came rushing over.

"Sar! Our awake! Oh Sar! I thought you had..."

"Shhh" I shushed him.

Draco looked at me. His face was a rare picture of emotion.

"Sarah you know about Bellatrix ermm disowning you?"

I nodded at him.

"And about you and erm me?"

I nodded again.

"Well Sarah the thing is well... We can be together properly now."

My heart did a flip.

I WAS ALLOWED TO LOVE DRACO MALFOY!

Bellatrix Lestrange couldn't tell me not to.

We weren't actually cousins either!

Draco had a small smile on his face I returned it.

For the first time I sensed my body. It was aching.

My bones hurt. I could make out a few cuts that had been fixed but I could see a few that were refusing to close.

Suddenly I felt quite light headed.

My head was swimming. I sunk back in to the pillows.

"Sarah! Are you ok?" Draco spoke up again. The smile was wiped off his face.

"I'm just a bit sore. That can be expected though if you jump of a cliff." I smiled at him half-heartedly at my joke.

"About that Sarah."

"What Draco?"

"Promise you won't do it again."

"Draco," I sighed. I knew this was coming, "Do you actually think I would do it again?"

"Well Sarah with you anything is possible."

I giggled at his worried expression. It was actually quite... cute.

I screamed at myself from inside, since when did I act like that!

I never let any emotions let slip but I couldn't help it around Draco. My emotions went haywire.

"Draco you know what you said just before I jumped?"

"Yes?"

"Well Draco, I lo."

"Miss Lestrange may I have a word?"

I looked up. Professor Smith was looking down at me.

"Alone. Draco will be told all this later but I want to talk to you alone the now. I have already sent Madam Pomfrey out. Mr Malfoy i shall call you in when I have finished. You are wanted to stay here tonight as you are still in slight shock."

Her abrupt tone reminded me of my own.

Draco left the room. I slipped my Death Eater cool back on.

"And what be it that you are wanting?" I snapped at her.

"Miss Lestrange. Sarah. I know what you are."

"I don't know what you mean professor?" I asked sweetly.

"I am not that stupid Sarah. You are a Death Eater. I am one too. An unmarked one."

I gasped.

Her tone softened, "Sarah do you know who your real mum is?"

I shook my head.

"Well Sarah. I don't know how to break this to you but... I'm your mother."

I sat bolt upright. I ignored the pain. "What about the rest of my family? Professor Smith, I don't even know your first name."

"Well Sarah, Your father and I are both in the Dark Lords inner circle. We are both on special missions. My name at Hogwarts is Kate Smith. Actually that is just a cover name. My name is actually Amanda Felix."

"Why did you leave me!" I asked getting angry. It was all I could do not to curse her.

"It was the Dark Lords orders. You were young so you could have told some one about my double life. I am sorry Sarah."

"Wow," I slid back down in the bed, "I guess none of the teachers can know about us."

I looked at her and for the first time noticed how like her I looked.

"Yes Sarah. You truly take after me and your father. Another thing is..."

"Yes?"

"If you wish, no one is making you but you may change your name to Sarah Felix."

"You won't ditch me again?"

"No Sarah. I won't. That I can promise."

This really was my real mother! I wasn't an orphan!

I yawned. This day had been tiring.

"And Sarah please don't jump of a cliff again."

I smiled sheepishly at her. It was stupid me jumping off the cliff.

A stupid mistake.

I yawned again.

"At that Sarah dear I shall leave you to sleep. I shall explain to Draco tomorrow. Remember while people are around I am Professor Smith. If you need to talk to me send me an owl. Ok?"

"Uhuh," I agreed.

"Good night Sarah," She whispered moving over to the door.

"Good night mother. Oh and yes, I do want to change my name." I added as she went out it.
