Chapter 36 - Coming Together

Alice POV

"So Alice what have you got everyone for Christmas?" Ginny bounded along beside me.

She apologised to us yesterday for her behaviour.

"Well that would be telling," I giggled.

"But Alllliccccee!"

"Ginnnnnnyyyy!"

She smiled at me. It was good that we were friends again.

"Girls!" It was Ron running up to us.

Ginny playfully tackled him pulling him to the ground.

"I always was the strongest sibling and I'm the girl!"

"Strongest sibling!" He retorted, "More like the weakest!"

"Well how come I tackled you there then!"

"I wasn't expecting it!"

"Hmph."

I laughed at my two best friends antics.

Sibling rivalry. These two took it to the extreme. One of them always had to win.

"Where's Hermione?" I spoke up.

"Dunno. Do you Ron?" Ginny asked her brother.

"Now let's see. Where is Hermione always in her spare time?"

Me and Ginny looked at each other, "The library."

Ron shuddered. It was his least favourite place in the whole school.

"Well I'll be staying well away from there then!" He stated.

"Aww is little Ronikns scared of the big bad library!" Ginny teased.

One of them was always teasing the other.

Ron's cheeks flamed red to match his hair.

It was actually quite funny. He changed the subject quite quickly.

"So Alice, When is quidditch going to start again?"

"I don't know. I think it might be after Christmas."

"Fill me in again," Ginny wondered, "I forgot why they stopped it."

"Well for extra precautionary measures they thought that for the first half of this year they would cancel it. That's all they told the teams. Woods devastated."

"Weird isn't it," Ron decided, "That it is only cancelled for half of the year."

I agreed with him, "You would have thought it would be for the whole."

"Hopefully it is back on soon. I can't wait to go to my first proper school match!"

I laughed at Ginny. She said the queerest things.

"Why are you laughing at me!"

"Ginnnyyy! I can't wait to be playing again either."

Ron nodded, "It will be good to get to watch quidditch again. Some excitement. Anyhow it might get Hermione out of the library for a while!"

Ginny pulled a face at her brother. She never got his jokes.

"So what's this you were saying about Draco and Sarah Gin. Did they..." I asked Ginny.

"Yes! They did! I saw it!" Ginny's voice jumped in excitement.

"They did what?" As usual Ron was left behind in the conversation.

I shook my head at Ginny, "Trust Ron."

She smirked at me.

"Do you really want to know Ron?"

"Yes! Why would I want to be left behind in conversations!

"Are you sure," I chipped in.

"POSITIVE! Can you just tell me!"

"They kissed Ron. They kissed." Ginny explained.

Ron's face flared red again. He shook his head and whipped his face in disgust.

"Why did you have to tell me that! That's awful!"

Me and Ginny started laughing at his embarrassed face.

"You asked Ron!!" I shouted at him through my giggles.

"Hello!" It was Hermione back from the library. We were sitting in a corner of the common room.

"What on Earth has happened to Ron's face!"

My laughter got harder. I found it hard to see through my tears.

Ginny put on her most angelic voice, "I was just telling him about Sarah kissing Malfoy."

Ron shuddered again, "GINNY!"

Hermione laughed, "Ron! Stop being so stupid!"

"Hermione," I told her, "He never shall stop being so stupid because he is stupid. Full stop."

This renewed our laughter yet again.

"By the way, where is Ethan?" I asked my group of friends.

"Detention. He was caught in the corridor last night by McGonagle." Hermione told me.

I felt sorry for Ethan.

"I can't wait until Christmas guys!" Ginny told us excitedly.

"I can't wait either." Hermione smiled, "I'm going to France!"

"Christmas will be good this year. I'm staying with my great friend at the Burrow!" I grinned at my friends and they grinned back.

For the first time in my life I was looking forward to Christmas.

It was going to be fun.
