We ascended the stairs that materialized after clearing the second level of the Mountain. They were massive stairs. We found ourselves on the Third Level Of The Mountain. On this Level, we found torches with the Flames Of Vitality, Fortitude and Purification. The Wind blew this area and there was vegetation around us as well as Streams Of Water.
"Whoa! This place suddenly became livelier!" Ciella stared around in awe.
"Hmm..." I thought and looked at the elements surrounding us.
"Anything the matter San?" Concordia asked.
"Keiran, do you think there's Life here because of the Elements in the Previous Levels?" I asked.
"So you noticed it too, didn't you San? I think your observation is spot on. Look at that door" Keiran pointed.
We approached the door at the centre of the Hall. This door was a little different from the previous ones. On this door was the image of not just one Dream Knight but rather four of them around the image of what appeared to be the Earth. An image of an Aqua Dream Knight was to the North, an image of a Fiery Dream Knight was to the South, an image of a Terranean Dream Knight was to the West and that of an Aerial Dream Knight was to the East.
"Hey San...isn't that..." Keiran pointed.
I smirked.
"Yeah, I'd recognize those symbols anywhere. That's the insignia of the Cherubim Formation" I said with a smirk. "This time though, they're surrounding the Earth. It's said the Northern and Southern Hemispheres typically experience Four Seasons as a result of Revolution, except for the Poles which are in a perpetual state of Winter and the Equator which typically experiences two Seasons, a Wet Season as a result of the South West Monsoon Winds and a Dry Season as a result of the North East Trade Winds" I said.
"So you think the Cherubim Formation could connote 'Seasons' as well?" Keiran asked.
"Look, each of the Dream Knights depicted on the door corresponds to one of the Four Basic Elements necessary for Life. It's no coincidence that the 'Cherubim' are believed to correspond to Cardinal Points. If this were a compass, when it's to the North, the Season Of Rainfall or 'Winter' would be dominant, when it's to the South, the Season Of Sunlight or 'Summer' would be dominant, when it's to the West, the Season Of Earth or 'Autumn' would be dominant and when it's to the East, the Season Of Wind or 'Spring' would be dominant. I think that's one of the reasons there are Four Dream Knights instead of One on this Gate" I said.
"Plus, the Dream Knights say Earth Element Users possess the greatest brute strength" Keiran pointed out.
"Well, I think San's right. Earth is believed to symbolize 'Hope' since it carries all the elements necessary to sustain 'Life' and each element has a corresponding 'Virtue' which possesses the capacity to generate what we could call an 'Atmosphere', 'Climate' or 'Season'. Flame for instance could generate a 'Fortifying Atmosphere', Water, an 'Empathetic Atmosphere', Wind, a 'Liberating Atmosphere' and Earth, a 'Hopeful Atmosphere'. Correspond these 'Atmospheres' or 'Seasons' to the buttons on the Playstation Neo Controller and you begin to see how each atmosphere affects the other and how they interact with one another" Concordia said.
"Hey Concordia, you know about the Playstation Neo's Cherubim Formation?" I seemed surprised.
"Of course I do. When you play enough games on the Console and begin to observe how the buttons interact with the actions on the screen, the knowledge sort of comes naturally to you" Concordia said.
"Plus Concordia is hellbent on toppling our Family's Title as Gaming Champs so I'm certain she undertook some espionage to that effect" Keiran said with a smirk.
"Anyway, anyone who has an affinity for at least one of these elements should go through this Gate" I suggested.
We all nodded in agreement, then I pushed the Gate open and we walked in.
