We stood in the presence of the older Dream Knights.

"Looks like you're beginning to understand the effects of climates and atmospheres on Sigils of specific affinities" Aileen I said.

"Yeah, some climates can enhance Sigils of a specific elemental affinity while some climates can deteriorate the same Sigils" Arlene said.

"Good. That brings us to the next role of Earth Element Users. We may have mentioned this before. That role is the Augmentation Of Sigils" Aileen I said.

"The Augmentation Of Sigils? Yeah, you mentioned that earlier" Concordia noted.

"I'm glad you remember. Augmentation is all about developing minor enhancements that expand the dominant ability of a Dream Knight's Sigil for the purposes of offense and defense" Aileen I explained.

"You can do that?!" we all exclaimed in awe.

Face nodded.

"We told you earlier on that a Dream Knight's sigil can only be developed by the Dream Knight however it can be enhanced by allies" Face said with a smile.

"To do this however, you need to comprehend the Elemental Balance particularly a section of the concept of the Elemental Balance revolving around Enhancing and Deteriorating Elements" Aileen I explained.

"Are those the Elements Of Generation and Destruction?" Keiran asked.

"Yes, they are, to an extent however the main elements of Generation and Destruction are known as such because of their predominant ability for Creation and Destruction respectively. Enhancing and Deteriorating Elements form a sub section of this topic" Aileen I said.

"What are Enhancing and Deteriorating Elements?" Ciella asked curiously.

"They focus around the interaction amongst the elements and the effects these interactions have. When the interaction of one element with another amplifies the capabilities of the second element, the first element is known as an Enhancing Element or an Amplifier for short. On the other hand, when the interaction between one element and another results in the nullification or diminishing of the second element, the first element is known as a Deteriorating Element or Nullifier for short" Aileen I explained.

"In our world, there are Seven Known Major Elements however some of these elements are alternate forms of one of the Four Basic Elements that support Life. The alteration is caused by the interaction of one of the elements with another. These interactions can create countless variations of the same element. For instance, Metal and Wood fall under Earth. Metal is created by refining Earth. Wood is born when Light, Fire, Water, Wind and Earth cause Plant Life to take root. In terms of Fire, we have Fire, Flame, Blaze and Inferno whose properties are mostly determined either by Wind or some other element that amplifies combustion. For Air, we have Wind which is basically moving air and Lightning caused by the friction amongst particles of Air especially in the presence of Heat and Water. For Water, we have Vapour and Ice caused by an increase or decrease in Temperature respectively. These are examples of Amplifiers and their effects on elements. Amplifiers basically have the ability to amplify an element or to transform an element into a new element. Nullifiers on the other hand deteriorate an element or diminish its effects. For instance, apply Fire to Wood and the Wood burns, apply Fire to Metal and it Melts, apply Water or Wind to Metal and it rusts, apply Water or Wind to Earth and it erodes, apply Wood to Lightning and conductivity is blocked, apply Water to Fire without some medium acting between them and Fire is quenched, create an airtight wall of some form of refined Earth around a field of Air and the contained Air becomes stale. When an element possesses the ability to cause deterioration in another element, that element is known as a Deteriorating Element or a Nullifier. Every element has an associated Amplifier as well as Nullifier. You can term this 'The Food Chain Of Elements' or 'The Balance Amongst Elements'. Earth Element Users take into consideration the affinities of a Dream Knight when developing Augmentation Sigils. This allows us to amplify the abilities of Dream Knights. Polarity on the other hand involves nullifying an opponent's attack via a directly antithetical element. The antithetical element must be directly antithetical to an opponent's and it must match the opponent's in scale as well. When done precisely, the dominant element will cancel out the effects of the less dominant element and you can completely avoid taking damage depending on how this technique is utilized however to be able to even utilize these techniques, you need a thorough understanding of the Elemental Balance" Aileen I explained.
