Episode 127: Omens!

EPISODE 127: XCALIBUR AOP 2! UNION OF THE WORLDS! THE FOURTH SESSION! THEMOUNTAIN OF OLYMPUS! THE ASCENT! THE SEAL OF IDENTITY PART XLIV: THECHRONOLOGICAL/HOROLOGICAL BLOODLINE LIMIT! MONOCHRON PART VII: OMENS!

It was dark all around me but I could vaguely perceive the sound of a river. Then gradually, glimpses of what appeared to be a great many coloured river rushing up against a Wall filled my mind. Then all of a sudden, I found myself standing before a tremendous Gate. I could still hear the river but couldn't see it. The sound of its flow seemed to be coming from beyond the Gate.

"WH-WHAT'S THIS?!" I stared at the Gate in surprise.

On the Great Gate were many symbols of Spirals, Double Helixes, Twin Dragons sharing a single body and countless other symbols. Before the Gate stood a boy with bright golden hair. He held before the Gate what appeared to be a Crystal of sorts. As I observed the scene, perceiving it to be a Dream, words began to materialize on the Gate. Below the words was what appeared to be the slot for a reply.

"The Ocean's Robe" the words on the Gate read.

They were strange words but I could strangely understand them.

"Three Families" the boy replied.

"Their Names" the words altered in form.

"Sol, Luna and Stella" the boy replied.

There was a sound as though a lock unbolted from behind the Gate.

"The Horizon" new words appeared.

"Human and Divine" the boy replied.

"Match the Seven Representatives Of Heaven with the Seven Representatives Of Earth" the words on the Gate said.

The boy produced fourteen Names. Seven of them under the title of 'Representatives Of Heaven' and Seven under the title 'Representatives Of Earth' but just before I could read the names...the Dream faded and I woke up.

Meanwhile, further into the Mountain, my Gramps and Dad stared towards the Gate that led to the lower regions of the Mountain.

"Did you sense that?" my Dad asked.

"Yes...it was quite like an echo of sorts. It appears San's perception of Time has attained a level of maturity such that he has gradually began to tap into the abilities of the Seventh Seal" my Gramps said.

"The Seal Of Benedict's Ark also known as the Seal of Worlds. The initial release of that Seal triggers Primal Memories that begin to manifest initially as Dreams until a person's awareness is sharpened. It is the greatest expansion of awareness granting one the ability to perceive all realities connected to Benedict's Ark via its Twelve Interdimensional Gates" my Dad explained.

"It also converges the experience of Time and History...causing it all to overlap in such a way that one appears to live all of history simultaneously simply by living the present. Benedict's Ark after all is the realm where all of Time converges" my Gramps explained.

I woke up. My uncle Prince appeared to be conversing with someone telepathically.

"You just had a strange dream didn't you?" he asked me.

"How do you know that?" I asked him.

"Your Dad just informed me" Prince said.

Suddenly, everyone seemed interested in hearing about my Dream.

"Well, I can't quite explain it but to put it simply, it was a Dream of a Huge Gate. Behind the Gate was the sound of a River and I would occasionally perceive a many coloured river rushing up against the backside of the Gate. Before the Gate was a boy who appeared to be answering a series of questions posed by the Gate" I said.

"The Gate was alive?!" everyone seemed shocked.

"Maybe...but it seemed to me as though the boy was undergoing some sort of Authentication Process" I said.

"Very interesting. It appears to me that you're beginning to experience a very unique facet of Time which brings me to your next lesson. What you experienced was an Omen" Prince said.

"An Omen? What's that?" Ciella asked curiously.

"You can think of Omens as events that foreshadow other events. A common term for an Omen is a Prophecy" Prince explained.

"Like...foretelling the future?" Ciella wondered.

"Not necessarily foretelling the future Ciella. Think of it as an event that occurs in the present but has implications for the future. There are typically two common categories of Omens. The first category is what is referred to as a Symbol or Sign and the second category is referred to as an Event" Prince explained.

"Signs and Events?" I pondered.

"With regards to Signs, the Omen manifests in the form of a sort of Symbol with an associated meaning that can only be understood by the one to whom the Omen manifests itself or by the Culture to which the Omen manifests itself. It's quite similar to Cryptography where one person sends a message that can only be understood by the one who holds the Cipher" Prince explained.

"I see, very interesting" Concordia said.

"In some ancient Cultures for instance, Gates, Windows and Portals signified 'Possibilities' thus the unlocking of a Gate could signify the unlocking or unveiling of a Hidden Possibility or Hidden Opportunity. That's how Omens that manifest as Signs work. They are in simple terms Hidden Messages that can only be understood by the ones who hold the Cipher" Prince explained.

"What about Omens that manifest as Events?" Ciella asked.

"Omens that manifest as Events typically mark periods of Transition. They can mark transitions in Season and things of the sort. An instance is the Autumn Season where leaves begin to fall. This Season is an Omen that foreshadows the approach of Winter thus we've come to associate the Season where leaves fall with the approach of Winter. Another Omen for the Winter is when Wild Animals start to gather more food or eat more food than they usually do or when birds begin to migrate in large flocks. The Moon itself serves as an Omen for the Tides thus the approach of the Full Moon foreshadows the rising of the Tides. The approach of the New Moon on the other hand foreshadows the diminishing of the Tides. In some Cultures, it is also believed that animals flee certain areas in large numbers just before a Natural Disaster hits. Thus the phenomenon of a general frenzy amongst Wildlife could foreshadow the potential approach of a Natural Disaster. To put it simply, Omens are natural events that hint at the approach of other events" Prince explained.
