Chapter 5

OLIVER'S POV

Damn it. The way she looked at me from across the room. The way the sun's refraction through the water was directly on her like a spotlight, highlighting her messy and pulled up hair. Her fringe was something else. Only if Percy would have shut up about her bracelet that he found in my drawer; she wouldn't have looked at us.

But what maddens me more is that he got us in trouble with Snape during Potions after we argued about the dorm situation. He said that I cannot just barge into the room in the middle of the night after having late quidditch practice. It interrupts his concentration when studying. I could care less, I told him which resulted in him trying to configure a different potion that had similar ingredients to get back at me. It led him to having the green all over his face and I slapping my mouth to keep shut. And it led to Ali finding out who I smelled in the love potion.

I took out all my frustration during a mini-quidditch match with the twins and Katie Bell during lunch time in the quadrangle. We didn't have any brooms with us so they were just throwing the balls hard and fast while I tried to catch them.

Katie threw a ball curving the air and I caught it with one hand. I threw it back at her. Fred threw it directly at me, hard and fast, and I caught the ball with both my hands in front of my chest. Suddenly, George's ball came directly towards my face. My reflex made me hit the ball with my bare hands and it bounced in the air before landing on my other hand.

"Nice try," I comment, giving them a proud smile. I gave back their balls. "Try to make it faster. Act of surprise."

"You possibly can't," Katie said, rolling the ball in her hands.

I raised an eyebrow, accepting the challenge. "Try me."

The three looked at each other and nodded. They threw ball after ball, sometimes at the same time, sometimes tried to distract me by the silly sounds and stories but I still caught all the balls. Quicker, smarter and fiercer.

George tried to distract me with his scrawny sounds. High-pitched singing that bled anyone eardrum but I just laughed. Fred tried to fake throws but it just made him look funny. Katie suddenly then said, "I heard about your Amortentia love. Torres, huh?"

"Who the bloody hell told you?" I asked, annoyance on my face.

"Percy," She popped the 'p' in Percy's name.

"He told each person on the team," Fred laughed, throwing his ball.

I caught it with my face mad. "That Weasley."

I raised my arm with the ball and angled it my elbow nearly 90 degrees. I put all my frustration on the ball and threw it hard and fast to where they were, not caring who will be hit. But it didn't hit them. It went over and to the people behind them.

My heart did a double take when I saw one of the people in all striking black and with the same fearing face. Snape was walking on the path the ball was going to intersect. Everything was in sync that I just wished someone would magic the ball to disappear.

And then it happened. I shut my eyes tight, my hands balled up to a fist as I heard the thud that echoed around the quadrangle. Katie gasped out loud which just doubled the impact to myself. I waited for someone to shout but when nothing came, I peered my eyes open.

To my surprise, Pucey' hand was right in front of where Snape was. He had caught the ball, gripping on it tightly. My jaw dropped to the floor because I was thankfully not in trouble and secondly, how did he catch that? I was sure it was going at a high speed. Adrian's hands would be red and painful then.
