Chapter 7

I decided to keep the knitted starry gloves that Oliver gave me. I don't think he would need it. Even if I did tell Oliver that I won't tell a single soul, I bragged about it to Zara. We talked about it on the way back to King Cross for Christmas Break.

Christmas, my favourite season of all, was a little special this year. I went back to Earth 616 where Valkyrie, Sif, Perrie and my other Asgardian friends were getting ready for the Christmas celebration we always held since we have been here.

Asgardians didn't celebrate Christmas until we found out what it was about. Though it doesn't snow and get that cold here, the rest of the decorations made it festive. As soon as I settled back in, Perrie and I made Christmas Lanterns, hundreds of them with the other kids and hanged it outside the houses and streets. Christmas lights were also hung from roof to roof and at night, all the lights were turned on. It was a different magical feeling than what I had experienced in Hogwarts.

On Christmas Eve, the whole town gathered at the heart of New Asgard. There were tables occupying the open grounds and many, many foods. The lights around lit up the scenery as harmonic music was played and that the festive feast was celebrated. We exchanged gifts, stories, and laughter.

On Christmas Day itself, I woke up to a nice surprise on my kitchen table. The rest of my gifts from last night were under a small Christmas tree, however, a tiny box got separated from it and found its way to the table.

There was a tiny card that read, "To my love, from Dad." I quickly opened it with the excitement rushing in through me. It was a pair of new social circle bracelets. It was similar to what I have but when I wore it and clinked my wrist together, I understood what was different. Not only did it have new engravings but it was made different with a different material. Made from Uru material like StormBreaker. I felt more capable. I stored it with the things to be brought back to Hogwarts.

The New Years were celebrated with beers and hanging from cliffs, watching the sunset and waiting for the fireworks late at night. I loved every bit of it that going back to Earth 71 was a bit hard.

January till May was a blur to me. They were filled with getting ready for the O.W.L.s that weren't until next year. The homeworks was agonisingly heavy and I wasn't sure if I was going to make it till the end of each week because of exhaustion.

After Oliver and I's little quidditch game, we'd been... reasonably friendly. We didn't say hi in the hallways but he was now allowed to catch my eyes and suppress a smile without receiving a glare from me. When June came, the first thing that was talked about in our friend group was obviously Quidditch. The last match of the season for the Quidditch Cup was against Ravenclaw and Gryffindor. Flint managed to persuade us to watch so that he can make notes on how to train the boys when the next season comes.

However, I had another reason to watch. On the way to Transfiguration, days before the match, Zara and I had placed a bet for fun.

"So, since I'm team Ravenclaw," Zara started. "If they win, you have to change your hair colour to silver."

"Just my bangs," I negotiate.

"Fine. And what if the Gryffindor team wins? What would you want me to do?"

"Eat a slug," I smirked.

She made a gagging face which made me burst in laughter. "Please, anything but things that involve the mouth."

I thought for a minute before coming up with an idea. "Prank Terence. Change his eyebrows to blond too."

She eyed me for a second before saying, "Agreed."
