Chapter 1

Just do it!

It's not going to harm you!

It's just hair.

I take a good and hard look at myself in the bathroom mirror. My black straight hair has been bugging me the last few days. It's just way too basic. Too normal. And I need something new to commemorate this particular event I have been waiting, more like dreading, for.

"Do it," I aggressively muttered. I nodded to myself and brought the scissors up to the front strands of my hair. In one big blow, snip, snip, snip, I had cut my precious locks. "Oh my God," I stated, horrifyingly staring at the image before me.

Suddenly, the door to my bedroom was opened. I looked at my open bathroom door and saw Valkyrie stalking on the wooden floors. I hid the scissors and tried to push back the bangs that I now have and tried to act normal.

I closed the oak bathroom door and went straight to where Valkyrie was sniffing around in my room. She opened the baby blue curtains and the sun spilled in, shining some light. The popularly known Valkyrie, one of those who lead the Valkyrie army against Thanos, has been crowned as New Asgard's queen. She had curly brown hair and the prettiest of brown skins. As a queen, she doesn't wear those gowns and crowns, instead she's always wearing her combat gear. She's a Valkyrie after all.

"Did you just cut your hair?" Was the first thing she asked when she looked at me.

I slowly shook my head as one of the newly cut strands fell on my face. Busted. She raised an eyebrow, stifling a laugh. I rolled my eyes, crossing my arms in front of me. "Is it that bad? Can I still change it? How can I grow hair back fast?"

"You can't," She answered. "Any reason why you wanted to cut your hair? Your father would feel betrayed."

I managed a small smile, crashing on my bed. "Dad wouldn't care at this point. If he did, he would have stayed here with me rather than go with the guardians."

Valkyrie sat beside me causing me to sit properly. "Thor loves you," She said calmly.

"I know. I just wish he was here."

She proceeded to pull something out of her back pocket. My eyes widened when I realised what it was. "This," she started, putting an envelope right in front of us. "This is a reason as to why it would be a waste for your dad being here. Congrats."

She handed the still crisp letter even if I had flipped it open and closed many times last night. I had hid that inside a jewellery box that I must have left open while in my late afternoon training with Sif. This letter was everything I had wished for since I was 11. Doing magic without actual wizards and witches was a bore but now, I don't have to be alone any longer. Nick Fury, the head of the organisation I was part of, had given it to me early morning yesterday. One of his men that worked under his belt that didn't blip came on this island and presented a similar letter when I was 11. I was utterly confused but I went with it because the world was in shambles. However now, I could finally be physically in Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

"Are you mad?" I asked cautiously, flipping open and closed the letter again.

"Mad?" She snickered. "I can't believe you didn't tell me, that's all. Has Fury come up with another great excellent idea on how to get you there? That's at the other side of the galaxy, Ali."

I present to her a sly smirk. "Fury said Strange can help."

"Will he though?" She doubted. "When I talked to him after the battle, he seemed cold."
