TW: SMUT TOWARDS THE END OF CHAPTER
Chapter 24
There was a body falling right into the ground creating a squelch of squeezing mud. A round of gasps went around and I couldn't help myself but look over the stand's railings to see what had happened. The fog had cleared but it was still raining. In the middle of the ground was definitely Potter, the Gryffindor seeker, with his head on the ground. His broom was nowhere to be seen.
"What happened?" Terence asked on his feet as well, trying to get a clearer view of the unmoving body. There were students and professors now running towards him. A few of the players came down to check on him.
"He fell from the sky," Zara answered.
Some Gryffindors gathered around where Potter had fallen. I could just make out that Madam Pomfrey levitated Potter from the ground while Hagrid made way, breaking the sea of students. Murmurs around the students still on the pitch went around, theories on what happened. I picked up words of lightning, tricks, or jinxes like what happened during my Year 4 when Potter had his first game.
"Dementors," Flint suddenly said. We looked at him with the most baffled faces but his face had become white – whiter than when I had become sick. He was looking up at the sky, his eyes bulging out of its sockets. He pointed upwards and shouted, "Dementors! Dementors!"
The whole pitch screamed at the mention. I looked up at the sky and there were black floating cloaks peeking out of the clouds. My heart picked up, remembering what Oliver had told me about the dementors and how they suck the life out of you.
"Do not panic!" Dumbledore's voice rang through the pitch. Everyone in the middle of pushing another to get out as quick as possible stood still to listen. "Leave the perimeter in order. Head back to your house dormitories now."
The chaos lessened but everyone was eager to leave the dementors behind. I kept close with my friends as we joined the sea of people on the trail back to the castle. The rain was still present and it didn't seem to stop anytime. I didn't bother trying to change it because of the tide of people around me. It was suffocating, like the way I got stuck in the sea of people trying to get into the Great Hall after the hail storm last year. It was a repeat of events and I perfectly remember what happened next.
Not a word was uttered until we arrived outside our common room entrance. We were soaking wet and shaking from the surprise and stress we went through getting here. A couple of different year Slytherins arrived and entered the pivoting wall but we stayed outside in silence, not one making a move to enter.
"Gryffindor lost," Adrian was the first to speak, breathless. "What now? Do you think... think he'd still say it?"
"I was hoping they'd win," I answered, my voice shaking. I held onto the concrete wall for support. "It would be easier to have him say it when he's victorious."
"Did you see his face when Jordan announced that Hufflepuff won?" Zara asked. We all shook our heads. It was far too foggy and busy to notice, especially with a body falling mid-air. "Well," She took a stabilising breath. "You'd wish you never did the plan because he's going to rip the bludgers apart himself."
"Is that possible?" Terence asked with furrowed brows, oblivious to what was important.
"By beating it to death," Zara answered.
Flint moved towards the wall and muttered our password before it pivoted to let us through. He still seemed shaken at the sight of the dementors' bottoms. We piled into the hallway lit with torches and slowly walked towards the wooden double doors at the end.
