Chapter 7: Feelings Denied

(Author LeviAndErenAreMine note): Just by looking at the title most of you would guess that Levi or Y/n get rejected. That's not the case. So continue reading nobody will get rejected in this chapter maybe one person but oh well. ENJOY!!!

Author P.O.V

Y/n and the captain grew very close. Little actions made them both extremely shy and flustered but as you know all good things must come to an end.

Levi had realised his feelings and affection towards Y/n and he always tried to get rid of them but every time Y/n smiled or talked to him his heart would race bringing back all the feelings he wanted gone.

The same went for Y/n but she was aware of her feelings and did want it to come true but she thought about what her comrades and superiors would think if she was with humanity's strongest solider. Y/n was happy if she could remain friends with Levi but the captain thought the opposite. Being friends would bring suspicion so he tried avoiding Y/n as much as he could which meant scolding her a lot more than the other cadets.

"Oi, Oi, Oi, Zateng you call this clean?!" Levi said staring down Y/n who was shorter than him.

But it was so hard for Levi to scold Y/n as her happy smile would turn into a frown or pout and that ached Levi's heart as he was the main cause of it. He tried so hard to ignore his feelings for his cadet and he left Y/n to redo her cleaning.

Y/n P.O.V

I don't know why but Levi was suddenly so rude to me. I mean he always was but I thought we had become friends, best friends. Did I do something wrong? I cleaned thoroughly though...I'm a clean freak too you know Levi! I thought.

I was finally done making the table surface sparkling like a mirror and a proud smile formed on my face. I was about to knock on Levi's office door but I heard something.

"I don't like her Hange." I heard a quiet voice whisper but then a loud one came over, "I KNOW YOU DO YOU STARE AT HER WITH A LITTLE SMILE WHILE SHE CLEANS OR DOES SOMETHING STUPID."

I knew it was Hange but was it Levi she was talking with and who were they talking about? Did the captain have a liking to someone? Who was it? My smile faded, did the captain like someone else? I thought we had something... I took out the photo of the boy out of my jacket pocket and I smiled. I whispered to the boy, "You'll always be by my side right?" Not expecting a response I kissed the boy in the photo.

I sighed, "I really do hope to find you before my heart gets taken by someone else."

~A year later

I turned 20 just last night nobody seemed to notice or celebrate it. I didn't mind after all today was the 57th expedition to capture the female titan and my 104th cadet group weren't very excited about that and I wasn't either.

There seemed to be only one person who remembered but it was anonymous. I received a package last night. It was neatly wrapped and my name was written neatly on the top of it. Opening it was a surprise, something I never expected to receive was in it. It was a tea cup. A nice fine one from China. It was quite hard to get your hands on something like this especially when your in a wall in Japan. There was nice blue dragon markings around the cup and I found that fascinating.

I first thought it was from the Captain but how would he know my birthday so I thought maybe it was from someone from my hometown. I smiled and displayed the Tea cup on my shelf that was filled with random objects I found around training, battles or expeditions.

I threw my green cape on. The wings of freedom clearly visible. I took one last look at the tea cup and threw myself out of my room. The Hall was filled with chatter and nervous looks on people. I ran over to Mikasa, Eren and Armin. We recently found out that Eren was a titan shifter and I was scared of him at first but I grew to love him the same way as before after all these 3 were like my family especially with Annie and Bertolt gone. Reiner and Ymir were in a different squad so I wouldn't be able to see them for a while but I was glad I had Mikasa in mine.

Eren was in Levi's which me and Mikasa weren't comfortable with as Levi had beaten the sh*t out of Eren and you could say Eren was quite a nerve racking piece every time Levi was around. I waved goodbye to the rest of my friends and I followed Mikasa to the stable to fetch our horses and we followed Hange out to the fields as we were in her squad.

Author P.O.V

Y/n had forgotten her feelings for Levi on this day but it wasn't the same for Levi. Levi kept on thinking about Y/n and was awfully stressed out that Y/n wasn't in his squad anymore. Y/n had been transferred into Hange's squad as Eren was going to replace her in Levi's. That was the reason why Levi kept on glaring at Eren. Levi was paranoid, what happened if he couldn't protect Y/n? Would she die? Levi shook his head and thought, "No, Y/n was one the best soldiers in the 104th cadet trainees nothing could go wrong especially with Mikasa by her side."

Levi smiled at himself in his mind trusting the other Ackerman in the scouts. "Yes, Mikasa will protect Y/n at all cost and I'll protect her Eren in return."

Snapping out of his thoughts he commanded his squad to get on their horses and follow him onto the fields to get to the gate.

"Be safe Y/n," he thought once she was out of his sight.
