Chapter 12: Awkward

Levi P.O.V

Y/n has been avoiding me like a plague and it upset me more than I thought it would. I really thought we had a special connection together but it seems that wasn't the case for her.

Even though in her letter she said we would go back as a Superior and Cadet, that did not happen. I was glad it didn't go back to that sort of relationship but I wasn't expecting one like this. I tried to talk to her, to work things out but it was impossible because she'd always be with a large group of people, being lost in crowds or she would just walk away from me. 

I gripped my hair in frustration, this girl was impossible to work out...What was going on in her mind?

Y/n  P.O.V

It's been 2 weeks now and it's been getting more awkward. I know I should talk things out with the captain but it's just too awkward and weird. Hange has been by my side and she hasn't been much of a blabber mouth than I expected her to be. Me and Hange weren't close before Levi spilt the beans. She's always been with me and a new friend.

I sighed not having much of an appetite anymore thinking about the past made me a bit different. I just gave up the love of my life and Petra has been clinging to Levi a lot more. I could see Levi's irritation on his face as Petra hung to his arm but what was my place to stop her?

"Y/n? You should eat," Christa spoke with sincerity in her voice.

"No, I've lost my appetite," I replied giving her a smile to reassure her.

"Y/n you've been saying that all week now!" Jean roared

"B-but it's true," I stutter out surprised to Jean's sudden outburst.

I try to look away as my group of friends all look at me worried but I made eye contact with the captain. I gulped as I notice a glimpse of worry in his blue-grey eyes and I know he had heard our conversation. I looked away as I felt my cheeks heat up and I looked down at the table while my friends kept on asking and begging me to eat something.

I then see hands place a bowl of rice filled with some side dishes in front of me. I look up and I see Levi.

"Oi Brat, you have to eat something, and don't think that I worry about you it's because I need you to get stronger for the up coming expeditions," Levi scolded.

"T-thanks Le-Captain," I called out and I received a light nod from him before he walked away.

I felt my heart sink, I guess the captain has already moved on and we're back to Superior and Cadet. I shook my head, No, this was what I wanted, we are back to normal...But how come I still can't get over him?

Levi P.O.V

"Y/n? You should eat."

I heard someone say Y/n's name and I looked over to her table and she wasn't eating. It made me feel a bit mad because Y/n was already skinny so why wasn't she eating? She would become so breakable if she didn't eat more.

"No, I've lost my appetite," I heard her say and I frowned but even more when Petra placed a bowl of rich with side dishes in front of me.

"Y/n you've been saying that all week now!" Jean roared.

All Week? I froze...Was it because that we broke up?

Y/n looked towards my direction and we made eye contact. Her eyes widened and she looked away and down to her table. I overheard her friends asking and begging her to eat something and even Sasha was offering her own food. Y/n rejected them all just by staying silent.

I couldn't take it anymore and I grabbed the food Petra gave me and I walked over to Y/n and placed it in front of her. She looked up at me confused, and I got lost in my mind trying to find an excuse quickly.

"Oi Brat, you have to eat something, and don't think that I worry about you it's because I need you to get stronger for the up coming expeditions," I told her but it sounded like a scolding. I than scolded at myself in my head.

"T-thanks Le-Captain," Y/n called out and I gave her a light nod before I walked away.

I couldn't help to look back at Y/n and she was eating. It made me feel a lot better but then I saw Petra and my mood went crashing down.

Oh Y/n...Why can't you replace Petra at this very moment?
