I had frozen completely. My horse didn't move either, it could sense what was making me so tense.(Author note: Hehe nice that rhymed.)Looking ahead was a titan, plastered onto that head was a large extremely creepy smile. Noticing that I had stopped Hange had stopped the whole squad and they all looked into my direction.
"Titan!" Hange squealed. No, I thought, that was no titan...it was an abnormal. I was afraid of Titans like anyone else but I was terrified and scared of abnormals because they weren't like any other titan to me because that sort had eaten my family. Not the blood related but a family that had taken me in after my uncle had rejected me.(Chapter 1 explains just a little)
~Flashback
The family had taken me up to the surface after taking me in when I was dumped by the dirt road by my Uncle. I could see they cared for me and accepted me into their family and I grew to love them. I was with them for 6 years before they died. They died right in front of me on my 13th birthday and ever since then I dreaded my birthday and preferred to celebrate it alone or not at all. The 4 of them eaten by an abnormal who managed to zoom past other houses but stop at ours. I watched it pick up my parents swallowing them whole, but it hurt more when I left them just because my older brother and sister and told me to run away from this mess.
I regretted it for 2 years before joining the cadet trainees. I never planned to get close to anyone or reveal my inner self(the Y/n in the present) but Annie, Reiner, Bertolt and Ymir changed that. They made me feel loved and they were like my past family so I listened and did what they told me because I loved them. It really saddened me that Annie was to leave because she was like the mother. The one who had found me and took me to her family and asked me to join.
~Present
Me and Annie met up secretly 2 days before we had to leave, we cried and hugged each other but importantly we promised that we were to meet again on the 10th of April but that was after my expedition and I didn't know if I was going to survive anymore. Encountering an abnormal was what I was prepared for but I wasn't prepared to meet the face of the one who ate my family.

By the time I realised my squad had left me behind I was grabbed by the abnormal who was slowly pulling me up. I scrambled in it's hand and shot a black flare and once I did tons of green flares shot after mine signaling to change direction. I sighed and closed my eyes, feeling my boot touch the abnormals lips.
"L-Levi..."I said hoping to confess my feelings even to nobody.
