– So, Ether's warnings don't work on you?
– Hey, don't start that, you'd have acted the same as I did.
Sitting on top of the three unconscious men stacked onto each others, smoking his cigarette, Sphinx's cold expression made Phase grin as he approached him, hands into his pants' pockets. The youngest was in a bad mood, and he could easily see it; he would never act this way in front of his Lieutenant if he wasn't enraged.
– Don't use that tone with me, Sphinx. It's funny for now on, but I'll grow tired of it quickly, believe me on that.
– Then don't go scoldin' me or I don't know what. I'm too mad for this shit.
– Do I look like a cheerful freak to you, or did you turn blind?
In a blink, Phase had caught him by the collar, shoving him into the wall in an angered move. Him either wasn't in the mood, and Sphinx began to understand it, especially when he spotted the blood staining his vest.
– The fuck happened? He muttered to the Lieutenant.
– A girl! A fuckin' girl happened!
The pink-haired man let go off him, rubbing his own face as he took a step back. He wasn't as okay as he tried to force himself to believe. Sphinx sighed and woke up, letting his cigarette fall from his fingers and stomping on it as it touched the ground.
– 'Kay, he said, in a more calm tone. Explain, get that shit off of your chest.
– I don't wanna talk about it. There's nothing to say about it. You called me to clean that shit, didn't you? So let's get to work and just leave that shitty alley.
The mint-haired man nodded; if Phase had decided to stay silent about something, then there were no chances he would tell him anything, may it be tonight or later. He pointed disdainfully at Jun and his friends, his other hand rearranging his hair.
– I tried to make these fuckers let Dove alone, but they said some things I couldn't tolerate.
– Like?
– Like obscene bullshit I won't repeat.
– M'alright. Let's send them a clear message, this time.
Phase grabbed his backpack, putting it down and opening it. He grabbed some ropes, throwing them to his Lieutenant.
– Tie them up.
– That's your plan?
– Do as I say, Sphinx.
After a sigh, he resigned to obey him and seized the ropes. He moved Jun out of the pile and began to tie both his wrists and his feet with harsh gestures, before reiterating these steps on the two others. He glanced at his friend when he finished, putting his fists on his waist.
– What 'bout now, Mister Genius?
His insolent voice irritated Phase, but he refrained himself to let his anger out on the younger, simply throwing a marker at him. Sphinx received it and frowned.
– What do you want me to do with that?
– I told you to let them a clear message this time, so do what you have to do. I have business to attend.
After a shrug and one last look at Sphinx, he left the alley, letting him there with the fainted men and a marker in the hand.

– Dusk!
Venom's panicked scream doubled Dusk's pained one as the bullet perforated his shoulder in a blood spatter. The abrupt ache sent his vision turning to black for an instant, but it went clear when the blonde slammed his body down, forcing him to dodge another bullet that could've been fatal, this time. The weight of his friend above him made him holler as the wound was dripping with the red liquid, creating a puddle on the alley ground quick, too quick. Nevertheless, Venom had been faster than another hit, seizing the blue-haired man's arm and dragging him to cover behind a wall.
– Dusk, are you alright?!
– To hell if I am! It fuckin' hurt!
– Get up, Royal Red is after us, and we have no fuckin' gun!
He got on his feet in a blink, forcing Dusk to do the same, and as the latter finally found the strength to ignore the hurt, the duo rushed to the end of the alley they got in. But when they reached its end, they suddenly had to stop: a red-haired man was holding them at gunpoint. At his classical style of clothing and his missing left eye, they instantly recognized Abel, one of Royal Red's Lieutenants, and one of their most talented gunman. The grin on his bony face almost looked like an horrendous grimace, and they held their breathing as his finger pressed lightly on the trigger.
– Aw, aren't you two cute, he snickered, running away like rats from fire?
– What the fuck do you want, Abel? Growled Venom, passing an arm around Dusk's shoulders to help him stay up.
– Me? Nothing. You two just were in the wrong place, at the wrong time. So sad, huh?
– We're not in your fuckin' hunt, snapped Dusk, just let us be!
– But don't you know hunters shall always finish a prey they injured?
The barrel pointing at the blue-haired one's forehead, Abel readied himself to pull the trigger, but with a raised hand, Venom paralyzed his, inflicting in the process a pain so excruciating the redhead had a hard time keeping the gun in it. It was like a million needles diving through his skin, muscles and bones, each stabbing him a thousand time, to the point it distorted his face. But him being a pureblood gave him a certain resistance to it, and his grip didn't loosen, although he couldn't move anymore and began to shriek.
– Listen up, Abel, groaned the blonde. I don't want more problems for Amnesia, so since I didn't get the direct order to kill you, I'll just let you run away, like a rat from fire. Alright?
– Alright! Just let go off me, just let go!
He let his hand down, while their aggressor let go off the gun, panting from the tormenting experience. He was about to leave in a rush when another voice resonated, freezing the three on place:
– There is your direct order, Venom. Kill him. Make him suffer.
