– It's done, Boss.
– The plan is finally going on.
– Better late than never.
The blonde lady nodded in a sigh, observing from afar the crowd that swarmed around Veil. Next to her, Tracer frowned, arms crossed; she hated gatherings even more than she hated that man. Him, on the other side, was brightly smiling, waving here and there, in a genuine cheerfulness. Camera flashes were like a drug for him; Veil was the kind to turn especially mad when he didn't get his daily dose of fame. And Ether knew way too well how badly it could turn if he didn't receive it in time. Under his polished of mister perfect was lingering a pureblood, which low-rank didn't equal his strength, and which rage could be built in a blink. She regularly had to organize him these events, to keep him on a leash, while her had to stay in the shadows, far away from the lights she used to rub shoulders with constantly, back in her glorious years. Nevertheless, she stopped to wonder about it all when her favorite grabbed the microphone. It was time, now. The plan was on.
– Hello dears, started the young man, I am so honored to be with you tonight. I've declared on social medias that I would have an important announcement to make, so let's not waste anymore time.
The smirk on his lips made some women in the mass squeak, while Tracer rolled her eyes to the sky. How can they like him, she thought, he's just a basic playboy... Stupid bitches. However, Ether grinned along; in no time, the agency's resplendence would be back.
– I will finally make my comeback on scenes, he joyfully said, both in solo projects and...
He purposefully maintained the suspense, sending his fans on the edge, whistling at him and screaming on the top of their lungs. He could feel their energy harder than ever, and it brought him such a blissful sensation he could have shouted with them, if it wasn't for the collected posture he had to keep.
– And as one of the vocalist and leader of a new band, B2B!
The wave of happy yells that filled the room pleased Ether, and the girl by her side easily saw it. Everything was going exactly as planned, maybe even better. The rumors they created to dirty the rival groups and leave Ether ENT enough space to introduce a new one, founded by a national star like Veil, and soon to be rejoined with future idols... All worked perfectly.
– B2B's official introduction will take place at Keystone Garden on Friday, at two pm. I am counting on you all to welcome us warmly, as we will perform with all of our hearts to gain a place in yours!
That bastard's good with the talking bullshit, internally grumbled Tracer. Let's hope the newbie won't freak out, now, or all of this will be a total failure.

– Honestly, I've got that gut feeling we should've told her, Ven.
– No, not with Atlas being in one of his bad months again. We can't risk it. Both for us, and for her.
Dusk silently acquiesced, and they continued their walk, side by side, across Dufferdale. Blaze's house was at the end of Amnesia's district, but although it would have been way faster to take their car, they both needed this walk. Hands into his leather jacket's pockets, Venom was looking up at the starry sky, appreciating the fresh breeze onto his skin. The other man discreetly eyed him from time to time, a smile on his lips.
– It's been a while since we walked back home together, right?
– Right.
– Can you stay with me, tonight?
The blonde glanced at him with a frown, that his pleading expression immediately eased. He sighed; he never had been able to resist that. Dusk could make him do anything he wanted him to do just by it, and although it bothered him, Venom couldn't do anything about this.
– I can't, he ended up sighing, I need to feed my rats.
– Then can I come over?
– ... Just tonight.
– You won't want to let me leave anymore, tomorrow.
– M'aw, don't get your hopes that high.
They both chuckled, changing their itinerary since Venom's apartment was in the south-west part of the district, while Dusk's was in the east one. In a few minutes, they reached the right street. Most lamps were broken there, and the obscurity contrasted with the other neighborhoods, all heavily brightened by neon tubes. Strangely, the atmosphere was almost suffocating, and they gave each other a disquieted look.
– Why does it feel like we've been here before? Asked the blue-haired one.
– Probably because we did. Look.
The blonde pointed at two silhouettes in front of his building's door, taking a step forward. Dusk blocked him with an arm, worried.
– Hey, let's just back off, Ven.
– No way. I need to feed my rats.
Of course, he would do anything for his pets. In a sigh, Dusk nodded, and the duo headed to the entrance, while staying on their guard. When they discerned who were waiting for them, their muscles got tensed up instantly; Venom recognized his former Lieutenant, who now bore an M under his eye.
– Venom and Dusk, the inseparable Lieutenants of Amnesia, grinned this one. Do you remember me?
– How could I not? Pierce, my...
He faked a hesitation, and at this moment, both Dusk and the other wondered about what he was about to say. But when they saw the large smirk on his lips, their doubt flew away; he would pick a fight.
– My worst student ever.
His snicker enraged the named Pierce as well as the guy by his side.
– Boss, he's lookin' down on ya!
– Wow, they call you boss now? Continued Venom. Morphine likes wusses that much? Or did you just kiss their asses until they gave you the job?
– I will end you!
Blinded by anger, Pierce bolted towards him, but the blonde sent him back to where he came from in a simple kick. But as soon as they heard their chief's screams, more and more men began to swarm from the other alleys, circling them. He stared at them with a smile on his lips, head tilted to the side.
– I'm in a hurry, he sighed, but I'll take the time to tell you a story.
At these words, Dusk's face lightened up, and he rolled his sleeves; it was his turn.
– Do you know why Dusk rarely ever fight?
The daring expressions on the Amnesia's Lieutenants' faces caught the Morphine's members off-guard, but they did not back off.
– That's because it'd take ten hundreds of y'all to make it even against him.
