– Whose team is on the northern part's HQ?
– I thought that was Claw.
– No, it's Blaze's. Ya know I'm not getting' there. I'm taking the east.
Midday had already arrived, and yet, the little group was still discussing the targets' attribution. Venom and Dusk had taken the lead in this matter, while those who already had one assigned were planning their attacks. The blonde man turned towards Sphinx and Dove, who were sitting side by side on one of the sofas.
– Sphinx, you're taking the main armory of the south. Think you can handle this?
– Of course. I'll be just fine.
– Good. Dove, main club of the center part. We're really trusting you on that.
– Got it, Venom.
– Dusk selected you a crew, they're waiting downstairs. Go meet them.
She nodded and woke up but Sphinx seized her hand, maintaining her in place.
– I'm going with you, he told her. I'll show you the ropes.
– No Sphinx, retorted Venom. That's her job, not yours.
– But-...
– Work on your own plan.
The mint-haired man resigned with a frown, letting go off her. She headed to the exit, but turned around before leaving, showing him a smile. I'll be fine, she thought, as if he could hear her, I'm going to rock this mission. I'll show them I'm worthy of being in Amnesia. She went down the stairs with a determined expression, but it quickly switched to an astonished one when she noticed the fifteen men waiting there, and bending in front of her. Right, the crew...
– Greetings, Boss, they all exclaimed.
– Well, hi... Let's get to work, as he said. Is there a spare room we could use?
– This way, Ma'am.
She acquiesced, walking next to them into another lodge, bigger than the previous one, a round table placed in the middle. One of the guys placed a plan on it and Dove leaned on it, eyebrows frowned. No, she could absolutely not deceive them. But in the same time, she had never do such a thing, and it was putting her in a tight spot. She had no idea of how anything of it worked; she would have to do her very best to make it all work out. The man pointed at a cross on the paper sheet.
– The club is there. There's not much obstacles around, the main thing is that there will be bystanders everywhere.
– Morphine's members?
– For most of them, yes.
– Count them out. The bosses said complete destruction, so it'll be complete destruction.
Her firm voice surprised them at first, but then, they unwaveringly nodded; she was resolute and unhesitating, just like the leader she had to be. Just like a leader they could willingly follow. She sensed the faith they were already starting to develop in her, and it reassured her; yes, she would succeed. They would succeed.
– How many exits? She questioned them.
– Four.
– Perfect. Then four groups of four people, we'll be standing at every possible exits and communicating by radio. When everyone else is ready, we'll burst in.
– Shouldn't we put more men in the front and in the back?
She swung around to examine them; most of them were low-rank pureblood, and the others were transfers. No simple humans, no untrained ones; Dusk had given her a good start-up. She confidently smiled at them.
– No, we can't weaken these points. Teamwork is important, let's not get too split up or we could have a bad surprise.
– Alright, Boss. Which kind of weapons do you allow us to take?
– Anything you're fine with, and that makes huge damages. We're not letting them a single chance, clear?
– Clear.
– Something else?
– ... Can we work for you if you become Mister Makarov's Lieutenant?
– Sure.
She giggled at one of the men's words, and the sight of such a cheerful young woman sent a blush on some of their faces; she was nothing like the others right-hands. However, someone knocked at the door, interrupting them. It opened, and Sphinx peeked at the door, a smile on his face. She answered it immediately, happy to see him.
– Dove, break time. Let's grab lunch together?
– Of course!
She turned to the crew and waved at them, making two of them squeak in the process; they would do anything to work under her orders. She rejoined her boyfriend with a bright smile, and as soon as she was next to him, he wrapped an arm around her waist and kissed the top of her head, under the abruptly less-happy glares of the others. She blushed at his touch, chuckling lowly.
– Hey, gotta look professional, she whispered, as they headed outside of the club.
– You are, he replied with a smirk. But I haven't seen you since too long, baby.
Her cheeks turned red at this nickname, and she pressed herself against him, joyfully.
– That's been twenty-minutes, you know.
– Too long.
– Too long will be tonight.
He nodded in a sigh, keeping her close to him as he leaded her across the street.
– M'yeah, true. I wish I could've worked with you on that.
– You know it's better that we're not together tonight. We wouldn't be able to focus on the mission, and I have the feeling that not concentrating there could be risky.
– You're right. Damn, you'll make a perfect right-hand woman, babe.
She softly laughed at his remark, and both entered a small restaurant. Sphinx sat first, and she intended to take place in front of him but swiftly, he pulled her to him, making her fall onto his lap in a laughter.
– I don't want you away from me, babe, he murmured into her ear.
– True, these tables are too wide, she answered with a smile.
– Yeah they do.
With a grin, he stole her a small kiss, to which she blushed and giggled. She passed her arms around his neck, settling correctly against his body. He held her close, resting his head against hers, the look on his face suddenly more serious.
– Promise me something, Dove.
– Yes?
– Don't put yourself in danger, tonight. N-now that I finally have you... I don't want to lose you. Never.
Tenderly, she ran a hand on his cheek and nodded, smiling. It eased his anxiety as he leaned into her touch, calmed.
– Promised. But it goes for you too, Sphinx.
– I promise you, baby. I'll always come back to you.
– Then it's sealed. It's our promise.
