 – Why did you say I'm what brought you back, baby?

At his question, she couldn't refrain a shiver, looking away; the memory of her last dream brought back images she wished she could forget. He noticed it and began to tenderly combing her hair, worried.

– D-did I say something wrong, love? He asked her nervously.

– No, it's not you!

She instantly locked her eyes into his, putting a quick kiss onto his lips and caressing his cheek, in an attempt to reassure him. Her moves did comfort him, but he was still distressed, and it showed.

– It's not you, my love, she repeated. When I was passed out, I... I had a weird dream. Nightmare would even be more appropriate...

– Do you want to tell me about it, babe?

She hesitated for a few seconds, before nodding; he needed to know, too. And further than that, she would have to search for the true meaning of this hallucination, or it would definitely haunt her. Maybe it was just a dream, but the way it felt made her tend to think it was more; something like a flashback.

– I told you my parents had been killed when I was five, right?

– Right.

– Well, until today, I couldn't remember much of it... I had my first flashback when we affronted Morphine, the day Claw hit you. But this dream... It sounds like it was one, too. I relived that day, the day they died...

She stopped to take a deep breath and to rest her head onto his shoulder, while he lovingly rubbed her back, doing his best to make her sense that here, she was safe. He could feel her pain, and it hurt him along. He kissed the top of her head, before she continued.

– This day, we were supposed to go buy me a puppy... I was so excited I could barely stay still, but somehow, I totally forgot about this. His name should've been Cinnamon, just like the plush I had.

She sadly chuckled as a wave of nostalgia hit her, and he tightened his grasp around her.

– I never had been ready faster than on this morning. I had a quick breakfast, and then, we headed outside. I can't remember where I used to live, but it was in an urban setting for sure. But strangely, the street was completely deserted. At least, until two men arrived... A dispute burst between my parents and them, and it escalated so fast... One of them hit my mother, then broke my father's life flow, and...

She closed her eyes as tears were coming into them, but reopened them almost immediately; her parents' lifeless bodies on the ground were marked into her mind, and it teared an anxious gasp away from her.

– My mother told me to run away, and asked me to promise her something.

– To stay away from gangs, right?

– I-I thought it was this, yes, but from this dream... I'm now sure I remembered it wrong. She asked me to live, and to avenge someone. She said a name... Taro.

– Taro? Was it one of your parents' name?

– No. I have no idea who that could be...

He frowned, thinking about it for a while; no, this name didn't ring a bell at all. He doubted that he ever heard of it, and sighed, bothered he couldn't help her more in this matter.

– If you want, we'll ask the others tomorrow, he proposed.

– I'd like to... Thank you, Sphinx. And thank you again because... It's you who got me out of this nightmare. It's your voice that brought me back.

Venom's statement caught him by surprise, and he couldn't hide it, nor could he hide the blush on his face; he loved him to the point of disobeying their leader. This idea both pleased and frightened him, but at this moment, he could only think of the first emotion; the blonde harshly pushed him onto a wall, and silenced his astonished gasp by an intense kiss. Dusk's hands came onto the back of the other's head to refrain him for stopping their kiss too fast. He could feel his heart throbbing into his chest; no, now that he was absolutely sure of Venom's feelings towards him, there was no way he would go running to Atlas. He was where he wanted to be, and tonight, consequences were puny threats compared to the overwhelming wave of warmness that flew through his body. However, Venom abruptly parted, catching his wrists to free himself from his grasp, and looking at him with a worried look.

– Wait, he exclaimed, didn't I hurt your back? I was kinda rough and-...

– I like it rough, as long as it's you.

Their faces turned to a deep red at the blue-haired man's statement, and after some more seconds to finish catching their breathing, a smirk appeared on the other Lieutenant's face.

– Then get ready, 'cause I won't be tender with you.

– Wh-...

Dusk did not have the time to talk; he already grabbed him by the collar, and dragged him to the bedroom in a hurry. There, the blonde pushed him onto the bed in a swift move, and he fell on it with an amused giggle. Venom took off his leather jacket, putting it on the dressing's door before joining him on the mattress, getting on top of him. Nevertheless, Dusk had another idea in mind, and forced him to roll to the side, coming above him with a grin, to which his lover answered with a frown.

– Go back under, he growled.

– Make me.

– J-...

Venom had been cut short, as an unplanned moan escaped his mouth; Dusk sat on his lap, and the pressure he applied was close to his groin, too close. The blonde raised up in a groan, catching the back of his neck and pulling him down onto himself as he laid down. They shared another kiss, that quickly evolved into a deep one, but it had to stop quicker than they expected; Venom's phone rang. He moved his face away from Dusk's, panting, and seized his cellphone from his jeans' pocket. But when he saw the name of their boss on the screen, he suddenly threw it away with a scowl. At his move, Dusk couldn't help but laugh.

– We are going to be in so, so much trouble... Even the kiddos can't do worse than us.

– ...Technically, they can. But Atlas can piss off, I'm busy.

– Busy doing what?

At his phrase, Venom smirked, and stole him a kiss.

– M'aw, don't act innocent all of a sudden.

– But I am.

– You won't be anymore when we'll be done...
