– Then just kiss me goodnight.
She opened her arms to him, smiling, and he did not hesitate anymore, pushing himself against her and kissing her passionately. No, he absolutely didn't want to leave her side, but yet, in front of her, he couldn't appear like a man who couldn't keep his promises, especially to a Lieutenant. She ran a hand through his hair, the other across his back, and shivered when he began to nibble onto her lower lip, in a needy move. She craved for more, but somehow, she felt like she also made a promise to Blaze, and refrained herself as well as she could. His tongue intruded into her mouth again, hungrily coming onto hers. If he continued, there would be no way she would tell him to stop, and she knew it. Yet, when she wanted to turn around, it was like her muscles were disobeying her; they wouldn't move if it was not to cling on him more. Her fingers on his back became more insistent, pressing to detail every of his chiseled muscles under his shirt, then to follow his spine, from his neck to the edge of his jeans. He was truly built like a fighter, but as his touch caressed her upper body, starting on her collarbone, passing onto her chest and finishing on her stomach, his delicacy troubled her. Everything about him was troubling; she never felt this way before, she never loved this way before. All of his kisses felt like ecstasy, and she was already addicted. When his lips reached the hollow of her neck, a small moan escaped her mouth, and no matter its lightness, it had been enough to send him into a second state. He couldn't leave anymore; he was captivated by her, by her features, by her body, by her voice, by her mind, by her entire being. While he had difficulties believing she was now his earlier, he was now sure he could both die and kill for her. Nobody else but him would ever touch her anymore, no matter their rank. Slowly, his fingertips slid under her top to caress more of her skin, and it sent another shiver into her body. Sensing her grip pressing him closer to her, he lifted her clothing until he revealed her black bra, his touch lingering on it for some seconds before he made her sit back up, raising her top above her head and taking it off. He threw it away and observed her until it was her palms tugging at his shirt, silently asking for it to be gone. He took it off, and as soon as he did, she leaned in, putting multiple kisses on his torso, licking it from time to time. Her gestures were sending another flow of warmness into him and as he pinned her back on the bed, he let out an aroused growl. At this exact moment, he wanted to do things to her Blaze could kill him for, but yet, he couldn't forget about his promise either. In a deep, resigned sigh, he lied by her side, hugging her tight. She immediately understood his sudden change, and showed him a smile before nestling against him.
– Let's finish what we started tomorrow, he whispered, kissing her forehead.
– Yeah. Just... Stay with me tonight.
– I'm not leaving. I love you, Dove.
– I love you too, Sphinx.
__________
– Love m-... What?!
– Don't scream like that, the rats are sleeping.
– Saber's on the couch, anyways.
– M'aw, not a valid point.
They shared a giggle, and Venom reopened his eyes with a smirk, observing the other, who was still wrapped in his arms.
– Did you figure it out, yet, or can I go to sleep?
– Sleep, already, that'll be funnier to wake you up.
After a nod and a yawn, the blonde closed his eyes again, and found sleep quickly.
It wasn't the case for Dusk, though; he stayed awake, staring at him with a blush on his cheeks. His heart wouldn't stop racing into his chest as his mind was focused on a sole question; does Venom feel the same? Minutes passed, before it was hours, and three of them later, he still wasn't asleep. But there was no way he could continue like that; he had to ask, to make it all clear, to give it a try. Of course he would be heart-broken if it ended up in a rejection, but he couldn't continue to bury his feelings. With a determined expression, he got out of his embrace, getting on his feet and leaving the bedroom to head into the bathroom. He switched off the light and looked around. A black and white husky rat was sleeping into the sink, peacefully, and it amused him, but he had to move him. He grabbed him delicately, putting him on the ground.
– Sorry Spear, gotta use that, he murmured to the animal.
– Gotta use what?
The blonde's sleepy voice made him jump around in a gasp; he didn't expect him to wake up.
– S-since when are you up?
– Just now. Wondered if you ran away again.
– M'no, I was just going to take care of this.
At this phrase, he pointed at his hair, and after a short hesitation, the other Lieutenant burst off laughing.
– Hey, I was kiddin', idiot. Move, I gotta pee.
– I believed you, you asshole!
Arms crossed and pouting, Dusk was about to leave the room, bothered. But before he did, Venom patted his head, amused.
– I like you better with long hair. Fits you.
– M'yeah, just take a piss already.
The blue-haired man went back to the bedroom, annoyed by his abrupt arrival. Such a surprise-waster, he internally grumbled, drawing the blankets above him. A few moments later, Venom rejoined him, getting under the covers and rearranging the pillows under his head, then closing his eyes. But during this time, Dusk had gathered his bravery, and took a deep breath.
– Ven, I... I love you. N-not just like a friend, or-...
– I know.
The blonde's answer caught him off-guard, but what dazzled him even more was the hand Venom ran across his cheek, softly.
– I know, Dusk, he repeated. And honestly, I should punch you for not tellin' me this sooner, rather than fuckin' yourself up with drugs. But maybe I should've told you, too.
– T-tell me what?
– That I love you too, you moron. That's why I'll never stop runnin' after you if you go away. No matter where you go-...
– I'll follow. First rule.
They showed each other a smile, and Venom put an arm around him, pulling him closer, sighing of relief. Maybe now that he knew, that they both knew, none of them would run away anymore. After all, into each other's arms, they were just fine. While externally, the blonde seemed way less flustered, he couldn't say the same internally; his heart was pounding into his ribs like it could break them, nearly paining him. But he had to overcome that sensation, as fatigue was increasing too. He leaned in to get his face closer to him, and tenderly, put his lips onto Dusk's, who joined the kiss almost instantly. Yet, Venom's mouth getting out of his reach some seconds later made him groan from frustration.
– What are you-... he started, frowning.
– I'm tired, Dusk. Let me get some sleep. I'll do better tomorrow.
At his words, the blue-haired one furiously blushed, and acquiesced, snuggling his head into the hollow of his neck to get as close to him as he could.
– Goodnight, Ven.
– 'Night, Dusk. 'Love you.
