                              (10 years later)
"Dipper where are we going?" Wirt asked, giggling while he did. While he was finishing up his writing, Dipper had come into the room and asked Wirt if he wanted to go out. It had been a while, both of them busy with moving and work, so Wirt said yes. He did not expect to be pushed through the woods with Dipper's hands over his eyes, though it did make for a fun time.
"We're almost there okay. No peeking!" Wirt chuckled but allowed Dipper to lead him through the woods, only stopping when Dipper stopped. "Okay, you can look now." Dipper removed his hands from Wirt's eyes and the man gasped, taking in the sight that his boyfriend had led him to.
They were at the cliffside, the stars and moon in perfect view. The clearing was illuminated by color-changing candlelight. In the center was a checkered blanket and a large spread of food and drinks. Wirt looked from the picnic to Dipper and grinned, his smile completely in awe. "Mason this is beautiful!" Dipper chuckled and blushed, both at Wirt's smile and at the use of his real name. The poet only used it when he was brimming with joy. That or he's using it as a tactic to get Dipper to stop keeping secrets, but Dipper was willing to bet it was the first reason.
Wirt walked over to the picnic and sat down, careful to not disturb the carefully arranged items. Dipper sat down next to him and took Wirt's hand in his, the adventurer's heart swelling with love. It had taken a while to get this all ready, from making all the food to coating the area in protection sigils, but seeing Wirt's reaction was completely worth it. "Do you like it?" "No, I don't like it. I love it! Dipper this is- how did you- you're so sweet for doing this!" Wirt finally settled on. Dipper blushed at the praise and moved forward, pressing a small kiss to Wirt's cheek. "Well, you had been working so hard on your latest book I thought why not impress you with a nice night out. Kind of sad the fae were too busy to come out here, that would have been the icing on the cake." Wirt smiled and hugged his boyfriend, quickly kissing Dipper's temple then his nose, and finally his lips. Dipper blushed but cupped Wirt's face in his hands and kissed him back, it really had been too long since they had been together like this.
The two slowly pulled apart and Dipper rested his head on Wirt's shoulder, gently nuzzling the poet's neck. Wirt chuckled at his boyfriend's behavior and began petting his soft hair while pouring himself a glass of champagne. He poured Dipper a glass too, knowing that once he stopped acting like an adorable kitten, he would probably like a drink as well.
"You know this explains why you were doing all that cooking," Wirt said, picking up one of the sandwiches. Dipper pouted a little and held up a plate of scones. "Don't sell me short. I also baked thank you very much." "Ah yes how could I forget, smart, beautiful, and can handle himself in the kitchen. You're a triple threat." Dipper laughed and took the glass Wirt poured for him. "Well, it's only right that someone as great as me ends up with someone as perfect as you. A match made in heaven is what we are."
Wirt smiled at him and placed his hand on top of Dipper's, taking in the sight that the cliff provided as well as Dipper's words. He might not be a poet or share his sister's love of romance movies, but deep down Dipper Pines was truly a romantic. Wirt was lucky that he was able to get close enough to see that side of him.
They ate and talked, catching up on things they usually didn't have time for. Moving into a new house in Gravity Falls was already a lot of work but they were also busy with their jobs. Wirt was a poet and author, his books about the Unknown becoming bestsellers. Dipper's love for the paranormal had only grown and, despite his parents' doubts, he managed to create a whole career around it. He worked with Ford to provide people with information on the supernatural, having an article in the news and continuing with his 'Dipper's Guide to The Unexplained' series, but more professional. Still, it was nice to have some time to themselves, a moment to just breathe and step away from the wonderful chaos that was their new lives.
