Wirt's pov

"Aww, they're so cute." "Shh, we don't want to wake them." "They're like cuddle buddies." I blinked a few times and tried to sit up when I noticed two things: Dipper was asleep in my arms and Mabel and Greg were giggling at the end of the bed. I blushed and let go of him only to fall off the edge of the bed. Mabel and Greg started laughing, waking up Dipper in the process. "Huh, wha-. What are you two doing up here?" Dipper questioned. Greg jumped up on the bed and answered, "oh, Mom and Dad are here so we went to go get you." "Yeah, but you two were all snuggled up, so we didn't want to disturb you," Mabel added with a smirk. I blushed and tried to comprehend their words. Were Dipper and I really snuggling? I mean, I remember hugging him last night but I didn't think that we would do... that! It was probably just an accident, yeah just an accident. Though it was kind of nice- ahh no, not the time for this.

I stood up and then remembered what Greg had said before. "Wait, Mom and David are here? I thought the roads were still blocked off." Greg pointed outside and I looked to see that the storm had stopped. Weird, it must have stopped last night. All four of us headed downstairs and the second I stepped out into the gift shop my mom pulled me into a hug. "Oh Wirt, I'm so glad you're okay! David and I were so worried about you and Greg!" My face turned red with embarrassment and I tried to break free from my mom's hug. She eventually let go and noticed the twins behind me. "Oh, you two must be Dipper and Mabel. Greg told us about you and let me just say thank you so much for letting our boys stay here." Mabel smiled and shook my mom's hand. "Don't worry about it. We loved having Wirt and Greg over."

My mom smiled back and then turned to me. "Well, we should get going. Come on boys." Wait leaving right now! I couldn't leave, there was still so much to do, like figuring out the mysteries of the Beast and Bill Cipher (I also wanted to stay with Dipper for a little longer). Greg seemed just as upset as me because he hugged my mom's legs and put on his best puppy eyes. "Mom, can we pleeeeeease stay with the Pines? I'm having so much fun here and Jason Funderburker isn't ready to say goodbye to Waddles yet!" I nodded in agreement and also asked if we could stay a little longer. Even Dipper and Mabel joined in trying to convince Mom and David (I couldn't help but blush when Dipper asked for us to stay with them).

Stan came downstairs and into the gift shop, clearly confused. Dipper and Mabel turned to him and asked if Greg and I could stay in the shack for the summer. He shrugged and said sure and all Mabel and Greg cheered and did a happy dance. My mom crossed her arms and bit her lip trying to see if this was a good idea when David put his hand on her shoulder. "I think we should let the boys stay Lucy." I smiled, surprised by his response. Maybe David isn't so bad. My mom still didn't seem convinced but she gave us a nervous smile and nodded her head. "O-okay, just promise me you two will be safe and text us an update every week." I agreed and my mom hugged me and Greg then turned to Stan. "Thank you for letting them stay here. Is there any way I can repay you?" Stan rubbed his hands greedily when Mabel stepped in front of him and said, "no money needed! We're just happy getting to hangout with Wirt and Greg some more!" Stan's grin was replaced with a disappointed frown but no one seemed to notice. "Aww, you're so sweet! Well, we should get you stuff from the car. David honey, could you help me?" David and my mom got our suitcase, gave us one last hug goodbye, then left.

"Yay! You guys are gonna have so much fun!" Mabel picked up Greg and the two twirled around and laughed. It was really nice seeing Greg this happy, and I smiled at the thought of getting to stay with the twins for the summer. An entire summer with Dipper. I blushed and my gaze drifted down to the beautiful brunette boy. Dipper looked up at me and smiled, a soft blush on his cheeks. "You know, I'm really happy you guys are staying." My entire face reddened and I nodded my head not knowing what to say. He chuckled and then went up to the attic to change out of his pajamas.

"Ooh, I know that smile anywhere. Someone's got a crush!" Mabel said in a sing-songy voice. Greg gasped and looked at me with a huge grin. "Wirt, do you love Dipper!?" Shit, was I being that obvious! I blushed and waved my hands in front of me while taking a step back. "What! Guys no, I-I don't have a crush on Dipper. Really, we're just friends." They both rolled their eyes, clearly in disbelief, and put their hands on their hips. It was almost creepy how in sync Mabel and Greg were. "C'mon Wirt, it's pretty obvious you got the hots for Dipper." "Yeah, you even wrote a poem for him." I blushed even more and gulped. How the hell did Greg find that poem, wasn't it in my pocket? I checked my back pocket and started to freak out when I realized it wasn't there. How the fuck did I manage to lose it! What if Dipper found it! I'm so screwed!

That's when Greg took a familiar piece of paper out of his pocket and handed it to me.

"Here you go brother o' mine. It fell out of your pocket the other day, so I held onto it for you. Now you can give it to Dipper!" I quickly snatched the paper from him and shoved it into my pocket. "W-wait how did you know it was about Dipper?" Greg hopped down from Mabel's arms and smirked. "Dipper's name comes from the constellation 'The Big Dipper' and in your poem, you called him your constellation."

Mabel's eyes widened and she bit her lip in an attempt to contain her screaming. I groaned and covered my face with my hands. This was so freaking embarrassing! Now Greg AND Mabel knew about my crush on Dipper. Oh, how the tides change. First, calm like a stream now as rough as a waterfall. The waves come at me at full force, drowning me in an ocean of regret and fear. "Are you going to make him a tape like you did for Sara the bee!?" "WHAT, NO! ABSOLUTELY NOT!" Was Greg crazy! I couldn't make a tape for Dipper, last time I tried that, my previous crush, Sara, rejected me. Sure we stayed friends but it still seriously hurt for a good 2 weeks. Besides, I don't even know if Dipper likes guys. Confessing to him would just end in tragedy (if you know where this is from, you get a cookie🍪)

"What if we helped you?" Mabel offered. "Help me?" Mabel and Greg looked at each other then back at me with huge grins on their faces. "We could be your personal matchmakers!" That sounded like a terrible idea but maybe if I agreed they would keep quiet about my feelings for Dipper. "Okay, but you can't tell Dipper about any of this, got it?" They both nodded and I relaxed slightly. I was happy that Mabel and Greg promised to keep this a secret, but I couldn't help but wonder if I should be afraid of them playing matchmaker (be afraid Wirt, be very afraid). Oh well, only one way to find out.

This chapter was really fun to write! Greg and Mabel are probably the worst and best wingman and woman that Wirt could have asked for. Hope you enjoyed this chapter and have a good weekend!
